Well as fun as my OBS was it had its issues, tranny shifting hard, some random noise at 40mph, aux stopped working the visor wouldnt stay up, cat had to be replaced and a few cosmetic things. But it had its good points fun to drive, handled like a champ, would have preferred 5sp but the manumatic was just as fun in the twistys.

But over the weekend we took our OBS in for service for that random noise 9 which supposedly was fixed before) and we started looking at the WRX's and ended up looking at a Forester. So we made a deal and traded the OBS in for a 2013 Forester Premium. We were upside down on our OBS and they paid it off and we got a nice deal, 6yrs 100K 2yrs free maintanace, a new vehicle with 12mi vs the 100K on the OBS. we needed more space my kids are getting bigger and were gonna have my niece or nepher with us so a bigger vehicle was needed. The Forester is just a bigger Impreza so it wasent that far of a jump. I will miss the OBS it was a fun car but in a few years I will buy a WRX so i can have my hatch back. Even though i didnt come here much its been fun.

If anyone is interested I have a WRX RSB that I bought and was gonna install but never got around to. So i dont need it anymore $45+shipping if you need a pic i can add it later when i get home.

Forester OBS vs Others

I looked for a long time, considering family v. fun... I've got a 5 mile commute to work. I leaned Legacy, but thought about driving gravel, and a dealer was clueless when asked about rally. After driving the Dart (still intrigued) and VWs, I ended up on Subaru and the OBS and think it fits perfect. I am now spending weekends driving gravel MM roads with pleasure.

Can't beat an Odyssey for the family, but the Impreza OBS is for off-road fun. Nice car, BTW, I love the laser lines around the fenders...

Congratz!! Just make sure you don't damage the oil pan or transmission oil pan doing so.

Question: Were the roof racks standard on the 2008 models? Just bought one used and I think I might have screwed myself by not asking where they were.

Hey everyone! This is my first post as I recently picked up an 08 OBS.

Same thing happened to me with the roof rack. They left the hardware in the glovebox, but took the rack.

Here is my 08 OBS

First thing was to sell my BMW

Within a couple days I had the windows tinted to 30% all around

We just got out Christmas tree!

Should be getting blue footwell lights for Christmas..can't wait!

So I think my battery just went. Is there a standard sizing that I should get?
I think I should be getting a size 35, is this correct?

I agree, when I put my red lights in, they were in within minutes. All the holes needed were there which made for an easy process. I wondered about going blue, but I love my reds.

Here are the lights. The hardest part I thought was securing the bracket on the passenger side. I should have just grabbed an open ended wrench, but I was set on using my Gerber.

So some of you may have heard we got a little snow storm in the north east and they told everyone to stay off the roads... so I did the only thing anyone would do... Get sideways in it.

Here's a few pics from after a couple hours playing in the stuff.

And this morning after moving my car a couple times for people that were stuck.

Good evening, all. I'm new to both Subaru and to the OBS. I recently picked up a 2011 OBS and finally had the chance to take it for a drive in the north Georgia mountains. Here she is parked at Mountain Crossings, near the Appalachian Trail:

And at Woody Gap:

Thanks for the entertaining and informative forum.
