Like i mentioned i got 34.5 that was my best and i drove properly to get that. If i drive how i like i get about 30-32. So it depends... Plus this is all back roads with speed limits under 50

How's the noise level on the highway?
Can someone with one of these please get a dB reading for me at 60mph?

I drive a lot in my job and I really would like a quiet car.
This would fit perfectly if it is quiet.

Dag mine is a automatic (cvt )

And I'll try to get you a reading it won't be hwy but i can get you one at 60. I think it's pretty quiet, the stock tires aren't the greatest and prob contribute most of the noise.

Thanks! I was actually thinking of the cvt for fuel savings so it would be ideal.

I really appreciate it!

Maybe dedicated summer and winter tires would help quiet it down in the summer. I would get winters the first year anyway, so selling my stock tires and getting good summers would be do-able.

Ok so i dl a app to measure db. At a stopped position (red light) it was reading 57-60 db. Started driving and took it to 60mph and three db at that point was low 80's
Hope that helps

I totally thought when first read, the front tag said redneck subaru on it. Cool to see you branched out to a new color

Having driven both, the 5sp is much louder (don't have dB) than the CVT at highway speeds (70-75).

At 70, the 5sp is at 3k RPMs, and the CVT is at 1800-2000. That alone makes the CVT a bit quiter, with tires being kinda loud in both.

I would buy one - IF:

1. MORE POWER (turbo or something).
2. Leather (limited edition) with a MANUAL tranny.

CrossTrek Spec B or something...

Just not enough power and no leather with manual has me coming up short on pulling the trigger.

if you custom order you can have the factory give you leather seats since you are ordering a custom car or you can add your own beautiful leather seats should be about 1200 for katzkin, cheaper for vinyl, or cheaper for regular leather aka not from a big manufacturer like katzkin .

This. Plus I'm luckily not in need of a new car at the moment. If I had to buy a subaru right now, I would pass up the XV for these reasons.

Awesome car, awesome commercial. They need to dub it over with an American accent voice and just show it here.

Saw my first XV on the road the other day.

So why is the chassis of the XV stiffer than the Impreza?

hey newbie here to nasioc, kind of old thread i know

just wanted to chime in for anyone thinking about getting one, I picked up a CrossTrek this past November. I was pretty hesitant to get one seeing the HP that it had, I liked everything else about it though. I test drove it and decided to go for it. I've put about 2700 miles on it so far and coming from also owning/driving a 2013 wrx (co-own/share both vehicles with my GF) that I really dont mind the power of the crosstrek. if your driving normally or trying to be efficient you dont really feel like your beating a mule to get it to go. Of course once you really try to get on it, its really not impressive at all lol. But my previous vehicle was a 4cyl Tacoma and that felt a lot slower.

Default Just got mine last night!

Awesome car! Never owned a Subaru and really wanted an AWD car. Outback seemed too Soccer Mommish (i have no kids yet) and wanted something that look different that what the Impreza looked like...saw this XV Crosstrek and after test driving it, I was sold. But of course previous car was a '07 Mazda 5 . I can totally feel the sturdiness of the car and the pull it gets from the AWD. Just joined this forum and didn't see a XV Crosstrek subforum yet. Any word if there will be one soon?

FYI-

wrote to primitive racing about skidplates, their response:
"We do have 1/8" and 3/16" front skidplates, and 3/16" rear diff cover now available (but sold out for 2 weeks on the fronts)
We will have the Rock Sliders (bolt on, est $399/pr, April timeframe for production units, earlier for special order)
We will have a new generation CVT skidplate (~April -May timeframe)
We now have LIFT SPACER kits: 1/4" EZ-Lift (requires no hardware, super simple install) 1/2"; 3/4"; 1 1/4"; 1 1/2"
King RAISING Springs shortly (within the week)
PRSS Primitive Rear Subframe Spacers, for adjusting rear camber and re-centering rear wheel on LIFTED XV's in stock.

3/16" Crosstrek XV Front Skdiplate $245
1/8" Crosstrek XV Front Skdiplate $215
3/16" Crosstrek XV Rear Diff Skdiplate $109

3/16" FBA Front and Rear $321 combo

You can post on NASIOC if you wish."
