Default wipers come on by themselves

I have a 2002 wrx and recently while im driving the wipers will come on by themselves. They will run for a while. They run at the lo speed, when i play with the switch they still eont turn off. Anyone have this problem? Thanks

my old 2001 subaru legacy did that. It didnt bother me to much as it did it only one or two times a week.

Never experienced this myself, but I would rip apart the wiper stalk. The switch is likely the problem.

So you think its in the switch? It will randomly do it. Some days its none some days its maybe a few times

There may be excessive ripple voltage coming from the alternator that is causing problems with some blocking diodes. To see if that is the trouble disconnect the connector on the back side of the alternator, start the car, and see if the trouble clears. If the trouble clears then replace the alternator.
