The only car I can see myself replacing her with is a Legacy GT. I've ALWAYS wanted one. And I'm getting to a point where I really really need to start saving money to buy a house and do other lame grown-up things. Right now, the difference between what the STi is worth and what I owe on it, is enough to buy an 07ish LGT with 60-80k miles on it.

Someone please tell me its a terrible idea.
I'd say the better idea is to sell of some parts you don't really need on the car and put those towards paying it off. Then just be content with the car as is and stop spending money on it going forward. The legacy GT would be cheaper on insurance though. Tough call. You'd probably miss some of the sportiness although I have no doubt the Legacy couldn't be a ton of fun.

Growing up does suck too. Although I did just buy my first house this year and modding the house is much cooler than modding the car. I can't wait to get my man cave done. Getting the house did drastically cut back my car funds though. That's about the only part that stinks. I'm learning to become content with a much more stock car though.

Yeah...after driving an STi everyday, it becomes very hard to drive anything else. All other cars make me feel like I'm driving a damn cruise ship. I'm sure I would die a little inside everytime I floored it in the Legacy.

Knowing me...I would buy a cheaper Legacy in an attempt to save money, but then slowly start tinkering with it until a year or two goes by and I'm sitting here broke with a 500whp Legacy.

If I could do it all over again I would buy a 90's impreza and swap it.

Lighter, cheaper insurance, sleeper as fuuuuu

End up spending half as much for a super worked car than for a snazzy new stock car.

Of course that's in a perfect world where I happened to have that money lying around and all the parts just kind of fell into my lap.

Trust me owning a house is waaaaaay more baller than any STI could ever be.
I'm still deciding on where the garage/man cave is going in the back yard

damnit i'm out of town next wed/thurs for work. so go to buzz & ned's all you want w/o me.

for BBQ, i'm gonna suggest 'Q Barbecue' for some meet that i'm in town for. unless it's too far for anyone. looking at a map, it's (glen allen) not very close to the city.

house you build equity, car not. all our mods makes our cars worth?

i had *efficient* cars for a long time...wife, kids and house came first.

one other thing about house ownership there's always something to spend money on. doing it yerself saves lots of $$.
