I have a stock 2007 2.5i with a used stock sti catback installed and now I am starting to look at headers to get more of a boxer rumble out of it.
Can I get a good sound while keeping the stock sti catback, or should I get a new catback also?

I would tell you to post in the Naturally Aspirated section of the site, as Interior and Exterior modification have nothing to do with exhausts. Along with that, a good hefty search would heavily benefit. It boils down to this, you need a UEL (un equal length) header to get a good rumble, to do that you can spend 1K for a premade header or find an old WRX/STI stock header, and have a shop fab a pipe to go from where the up pipe would be to your catback.
