Hi All,
4 weeks ago a seal in my 6'000 mile old 11.5:1 Q-Rack failed and leaked all the fluid PS fluid all over my driveway. A couple days later I emailed Q-Rack. No response so another couple days later I posted in an IWSTI thread here. Since then they have said they will help, maybe send parts and tell me how to fix it, promised to Skype me etc. but I still have no idea what to do and am not getting any replies now. I was hoping to have it fixed in a few days, it's been broken for nearly a month and I don't have a spare car. I guess I'm on my own. Does anyone know if and how a Q Rack is different to a stock rack, apart from the ratio? Are seals the same as stock? Has anyone replaced the seals in a rack and can help with advice, or is there a thread about it somewhere? I searched for hours but found nothing. At this point I'm going to have to buy and fit a standard rack and sell/send back ($200)/give away/frame the Q Rack. Thanks, Steve.

I just got an email from them that makes me feel much better.
I didn't think about the hurricane, it turns out they did get hit! Of course I understand and am sorry they had to go through that and have damage to deal with. My steering rack is not so important in light of that. Apologies for starting the thread but I am getting desperate to get the car fixed and thought I'd better have a "plan B" in place to get it fixed. I'm 100% confident they will look after me and I'll wait patiently now. I hope they and their families are safe and unhurt. |

Update, I spoke too soon, another month has gone by and no help whatsoever from Q Rack.

So you have a RHD Qrack?
You can always go to the Spec C rack, a bit bigger ratio, but still a nice one. |

Yes, RHD. I just got a stock 03 WRX rack cheap from a wrecker to fit as I need the car after more than 2 months off the road waiting for Q Rack.
If I had the money I would get the spec C though for sure ![]() Thanks, Steve. |

Thanks for the offer but ideally I will work out how to get the Q Rack fixed and back in my car, I loved it when it was working.

Qracks are awesome, but the customer service is terribly slow.
I'm still loving my QRack and it's been trouble free so far 2 years. |

Agreed, Tibor helped me a lot when I bought it, made me an extended steering column etc and was great all round, apart from the long wait.
I would be happier if they would just say "Sorry but you're on your own" instead of stringing me along with "We'll sort you out!". I don't care and am not angry at Q Rack, at this point I just want to work out how to replace the seal. Seems no one knows how. |
