Much smoother and pulls much much harder and actually holds boost.

Most people probably don't know unless they have a boost gauge but stock boost tapers down to less than 9 psi at redline. This TP map tapers to 12psi.

My K&N intake will be here on Monday. K&N claims 15hp gain but I don't believe it.

Wednesday axle back and hangers arrive.

Then just waiting on some funds to clear and a Nameless catless downpipe, process west intercooler, and Grimmspeed EBCS will be on the way

Boost gauge and Air oil separator are next on my list, but it definitely feels like it drops off some up in the revs

Installed my K&N intake last night and reflashed to the proper map for it and DAMN what a difference. Turbo spools much quicker and smoother. Even better fuel economy!!!

On a 3rd gear pull my gains in Virtual Dyno from my datalogs are up 11whp from before the intake(Same ambient temp and stretch of road). Overall the car is smoother and is averaging 25mpg easily.

Yes. When you pay him for the Stage you want it includes all the different intake maps.

Installed the midpipe and DW65C fuel pump today. Midpipe makes a major sound difference. And the DW65c is to ready me for stage 3.

I have decided to skip stage 2 and go right for stage 3 with the Process West Top mount. The intercooler and EBCS will be ordered in two weeks anyways so no point in wasting $85 for a tune to run for 2 weeks.

What kind of sound difference did you notice with adding the midpipe? Just louder? Or more raspy? Also, what size mufflers are you running on the axle back? I have the nameless 5" muffler axle back setup on my 2012 hatchback now and am looking to add their midpipe w/o a resonant or. Also, looking to add their downpipe down the road and go stage 3.

Thanks,

Blake

I would advise against the turbo blanket only because I have learned that it cuts the life of your turbo. But man you are not wasting any time and modding it up !

That sucks man. But you're hijacking his thread. Make a new thread in your region see if you can get an advice. It sounds like you're getting the ringland problem. Have you been WOT since day one?

Why are COBB's tunes crappy?

Also, OP: Why are you getting the EBCS? What's your WGDC like?

Get out of this guy's way! Hope this Stage 3 satisfies your mod bug, but I'm guessing it won't. Sounds like your appetite for speed is insatiable. Enjoy the ride.

With the engine mounts and bushings ... have you noticed a rougher / more ratteley idle or any negatives?

I'm with you .. shifting into 3rd at WOT feels very .. well, funky. It feels like the whole engine is rocking around in there, and the transmission is like "WTF hey where are you going, HERE'S THIRD" and the engine is like "HEY NO i wasn't ready for that .. bog bog bog, ok .. now lets go"

Something isn't right... I'm driving it correctly but the WOT shifts are anything but crisp and smooth due to what feels like movement under the hood.

I probably should start with mounts and bushings, but when I did that with my honda I turned it into a rattle trap pile of crap, not very good for a DD.

Well havent reported back in a while but to answer all the questions.

As for the midpipe it made the car louder overall. Not really raspy without the resonator more a smooth sound.

As for the intake it is a K&N Typhoon.

I got the EBCS because it was required for the TP stage 3 tune.

I have not noticed much of a difference as far as rattle with the engine mounts and bushings. I did notice a slight bit more transmission whine in the car though.

As for a more personal note. I picked up a new job and will be adding more to the car.

Going to pick up some KW Variant Coilovers, Varrstoen Wheels, and Nitto rubber for summer. Then for my winter setup I want to lift the car a good amount and run some good meaty all terrains.

Also going to do some visual mods as well. OEM STI Lip, OEM Fogs, and the Subaru Rainguards.

I have tried taking some but my cell phone isnt up to the task. Trying to borrow a friends camera and get some posted.

As for the exhaust you can hear it over 2 miles away if i am on it. Otherwise its not too loud.

What amsoil are you using? Just picked up 5 quarts of signature series and a oem filter. I'm at 3750 miles on my 2013 wrx.

So just for the sake of keeping this up to date. Im pretty sure I have a fubar'd ringland. Going to do a compression test here in a few days but I am getting a puff of oil on some startups and burning quite a bit too. Guess its time to go forged.....

Purely curious, but with all the modding why didn't you choose to start with the sti platform?

Honestly didn't have the credit score or down payment for an STi. Plus I get more joy out of evolving the car on my own with parts I would have put on the STI anyways.

I have been thinking as of late that I will be moving over the essentials from an STi, namely the 6 speed trans and the rear, with some inspiration from Xluben.

With that being said my direction for this build has officially changed from standard daily driver to something more power oriented
