Default 02 wrx turbo spool noise screech after boost

About two weeks ago on my way to work I was shifting into 5th at around 4500-5000 rpm. Coming out of boost I hear a screech from the turbo. Its not very loud. I was told the turbo is an sti turbo the previous owner had the turbo replaced about 3 months before I bought the car. The car also came with a 3 inch down pipe, full exhaust and intake. I have since then I upgraded to a silicone turbo inlet and hard inter cooler piping. I can see the turbo is newer but still looks small to me. Yesterday on my way to work the car not yet wormed up shifting into 5th at 5000 rpm I here the noise again. I have only herd the noise twice. The car 02 wrx

You seriously rev to 5K RPM before your car is warmed up? Good luck with that...

Stay under 3k rpm until the car is warmed up.

Also, did you check for shaft play on that turbo before you installed it? You got everything tuned right?
