Default HID on 06's??

I know it's probably not worth the $$, but can any one give me info on doing a REAL HID set up on an 06 Forester? I upgraded my bulbs, but still prefer the HID's I was used to. Where can I get the best kit for the money? I'l willing to spend a little, but nothing outrageous. LOL

TIA!!!

Are you talking about a kit (just new bulbs and ballasts) or a real retrofit with the proper lenses? Here is some info on someone doing a TRS retrofit.

Here is a thread on how to do it if you want to pick up a pair of RX330 lights.

Otherwise, a marimoto kit (bulb and ballasts) is considered the best. About $150. It is recommended to open up the headlights and fill in the opening in the shield if you just go with the kit and don't add an actual HID lense.

All my car buddies say don't just slap on the bulbs and ballasts, but I keep debating. I love the HID's but don't wanna drop more than a couple hundred if I don't "have to."

If you buy just the ballasts and bulbs and they are properly aimed, its not extremely bad. HOWEVER! Remember HID's put out a lot more light and the housing isn't made for that particular light setup. So even if they are aimed, you still can blind other drivers. If you must have HID's do the full conversion. This is safer for other drivers.
