What's going on everyone this is my first post so take it easy! I'm looking for a DIY or pictures of the seat belt harness bars for my 2011 sti sedan just so I can get an idea of how and where to install and of trimming some pieces is required. Thanks for the help.

Are you talking about an aftermarket harness bar like the Cusco or Sparco? Why do you want harnesses? Do you track it or is it just for looks.
An aftermarket harness bar is unsafe for anyone in your back seats. Also a legit harness setup is overkill and uncomfortable for any daily driving. Just needs some background on why you want this |

Sell it back and spend the money on something worthwhile. Do you have a harness to go with them? Installation is fairly cut and dry.

I am also looking for a harness bar, but mine is not for "looks" its for a camera mount for a track day and for nothing else (no Harness).
I have found $450 ones from Cusco or Sparco. but I am not wanting to spend that kind of money for just a "mount" Anyone know of a "cheep" one. I keep finding ones for 02-07's at about $110 but not 08 and up. |

Useless on the street. The stock 3 point harness does just fine and always has. Just because you have fancy looking bucket seats doesn't mean racecar/need 5 point harnesses.

I recall asking for install help not opinion on if its a race car or what not. Just asked for install help. Car is clearly mine I know what I want in it. I'm not asking anyone to put stuff and not to put stuff in their vehicle. If I was concerned about vehicle safety I would have brought the marauder lol.

We are trying to educate you about how impractical this decision is. That being said, congrats on wanting to purchase the product. It will come with installation instructions, you can also consult Google with "wrx harness bar install" and yield even more visuals.

I can't tell if you think you are high an mighty in this post by putting it in your STI. ![]() It seriously just bolts in. Will come with instructions even. It's not at all the best way to install a harness into the car, but make sure you at least learn to wrap them correctly. |

Not high and mighty post clearly just asked for install pics or video of install because I don't feel like chopping or trimming away on my interior pieces. I don't recall asking for ADVICE* on why I shouldn't get it or how I should spend my money on other things.

if interested there are a few threads on 3gwrx/wrxforums for install. you can use just about any harness bar. the sparco bar from previous years works fine as well. the ebay ones work if you are just looking for the "look". the NRG ones as well. harnesses can be had anywhere if just for looks. if you want something that will work with your harness bar as intended (wrap-style) and function and designed appropriately i have a schroth harness and pads available here: http://www.wrxforums.com/forums/19-w...ness-pads.html
good luck and be safe whatever you decide to do. |

properly installed and tightened harnesses make it near-impossible to do anything in your car except reach the steering wheel and shifter.
not to mention they can/will be far more dangerous without the rest of a safety system. |
