Sort of parting it out? It's fairly incomplete at the moment as the intent was to turn it into an actual rally car. There are a number of parts I can do without because of that plan, but I may end up scrapping it altogether, funds are not there for the project but I have the space for it to sit for now...

Hope those crossmembers bolt up, they look amazing!

Update
Hi everyone, sorry I have not been online lately. I have been busy working on other projects to help make money to buy parts for the Legacy. I just finished work on a 84 March Indycar and will be spending the next few weeks or so working on a Indylights car

I am still searching for parts for my Legacy and have just placed an order for the proper intercooler and lines and pump for my EJ20 Engine. I am also going to be taking my Legacy to get the subframes made and fitted soon so I am very much looking forward to that and having Ray do some seam welding on the shell at the same time.
I also had a great Christmas and got a scale model of a Ferrari 512LM that I worked in the 90's while working for my dads business.

In my spare time I like to build and collect scale cars, above are a pics of models I built and csome I bought.
The Last few weeks of last year were spent working on an Alfa Romeo sports car engine similar in a few ways to the Ferrari engines we have built in the past, it is a huge project and will require hundreds of hours as it is being built up from a lot of parts which were bought out of Italy.

I am currently back working on a Cosworth DFV which is one of several we have to do this year.

Well I apologize the thread has gone cold but I hope you guys will keep checking in as I will be back working on the Legacy soon

Well today I sorted through a load of parts that I took from two N/A 2.2 Legacy sedans from a local Auto dismantler called picknpull. One of the cars was obviously a very nice car before it was crashed but the trunk and rear garnish were in excellent condition which I want for the spoiler delete, I will have one painted with original spoiler and this one without. I also picked up a good carpet, rear parcel tray with speaker covers and cutout for rear brake light. The big thrill was finding wind up windows with arm rests
etc in excellent condition

I also picked up spare dash pad with no sunburn which I will have to respray to correct color and a bunch of the trim clips and fasteners etc which I labeled and sealed in bags.

One thing I had to do recently was buy a car for my wife to use as the Legacy is way too far off from being finished and our STI now has 62,000 miles on it. We like our new Subaru, it's great to drive and bigger which worked out great when I went and got the parts for the Legacy.... Here it is

My sincere apologies to those that are watching this build thread, I know I have neglected to keep it going as I should.
I have had a few things going with the project, firstly the parts in New Zealand are all packed up and ready for shipping, I am just working to get the paperwork done for customs. Secondly I bought a rotisserie and the car has been seam welded and Ray from DRC race craft has given me an awesome new front crossmember to fit to the car..... So here are some pictures

Two things

1) I'm truly scared of the amount of money you've put into this build, as it would probably come close to my yearly after tax income

2) I'm also very envious of the knowledge you have to pull off such a huge project, and your attention to detail and not cutting corners.

Well done, and I look forward to the finished project

I also want to take this opportunity to post some more photos of Rays Subframes, he does an amazing job
DRC race craft subframe photos, these are actually specifically for the Impreza but they also fit the legacy. You won't get better quality parts for you car than these

The Legacy is almost ready for paint, I fit the doors and new fenders and hood today. The seam welding is all finished and the jack stand mounts are now all finished

We will be making the WRC style stands as pictured, the mounts welded onto the Legacy are for these stands!

Sorry for the newbie question, but the older turbo Legacy comes stock with the 2.2L block with the semi-closed deck? I've heard those things are bullet-proof.

I have all the parts for my Legacy from New Zealand and also now have a Six speed from a 2001 RA Impreza with viscous center diff and Suretrac front and rear diffs. I have already stripped and cleaned the trans and rebuilt the starter that came with it. I have stripped and gone through the pump for the intercooler and cleaned up the radiator(cooler) for the intercooler.
Here's some pictures

This is the six speed RA trans that I am going to use, this is before I recieved it.

The box of parts shipped over from NZ including two new rear bumper covers (obselete in US) thes are shipped from japan to NZ and are different to USDM
One front bumper cover also from Japan to NZ
RS intercooler with all new lines and hoses
A used intercooler pump and Radiator (cooler) for intercooler
New coils. Used intake with wiring loom and hoses same as Rs and RSRA
A new RS type RA rear garnish

Top bumper is new USDM bumper cover, lower one in photo is JDM

New RA tach with higher rpm redline

Rebuilding intercooler pump

And cooler painted

Starter repainted and rebuilt
