Default Wagon Spoiler Torn Off

Didn't know which forum to post this on, but a month ago, a friend strapped on a board to my roof rack with bungee chords and it broke on the free way. The board slammed into my spoiler and tore it right off. Now there are two holes on my rear roof area that are too large for the plastic bolts to go back in despite buying new bolts for the spoiler.

Any one have any ideas on how to re-attach the spoiler? I was thinking puttin in washers on the other side, but it doesn't look like I can get under the panel. The truck door looks like its welded all together. I have a 2004 WRX Wagon. Much help appreciated!

this happened to me many years ago with an incident with a bike rack. The short answer is i never found a way to re attach it and make it useful, without a new trunk door, so just get the body shop to fill and paint it.

Well my spoiler has been flopping around since I got it. I think the last owner took it off to bondo it, and when they put it back on, stripped out those plastic retainer nut things. So I was going to get some angled pliers so I can get to the actual nut and then replace it with a washer/nut jb welded where the original was. The hardest thing for me is getting to that nut area. There is only a 2.5" or so large hole covered by a rubber plug to get in there. Could also try a 3M type molding adhesive tape designed for body work. But the down force might eventually knock it off again over time.
