So I finally got to shoot something. My roommate just got a new FJ Cruiser so we took a few pictures..

Nikon D7000 w/ 85mm
1/200 | ƒ/1.8 | ISO 800 | 85mm

1/200 | ƒ/1.8 | ISO 800 | 85mm

1/200 | ƒ/3.5 | ISO 800 | 85mm

1/30 | ƒ/4 | ISO 100 | 10mm

1/160 | ƒ/2 | ISO 125 | 85mm

Okay so this one is a little different. It was taken with my 85, and it's about 9 images total. It's all been merged together to make quite a large picture and overall it came out pretty good.

Despite the FJ being out of focus? curious as to why you used such high ISO in the first few photos as well.

This is a boredom shot, nothing more.

I wanted it to be a little different. It was cloudy as all hell and it was getting dark quick. I didn't want to go overboard with noise so I limited it to 800

Only reason I ask is because there looks to be enough light to have your ISO sub-400

I lightened them a bit in post but there probably was enough light. I had it on auto iso just so I could get some decent shots without having to worry but I didn't want to slow my shutter speed much more either

I have next to zero knowledge about DSLR cameras, editing photos, or even photography in general. Here is a contribution to the thread, though. I'll see if I can get all the information from the guy that took this shot, but no guarantees. Hell, I don't even know what make the camera was. For some reason I want to say it was a Nikon D7000, but again, I'm not positive. Anyway, this is my old B5 S4 during Waterfest weekend '11.

Do you have any experience with the 50mm f/1.8 vs the 1.4? I've been considering upgrading since I use my 50 a ton.

Canon wise, the 50 1.4 is better than the 50 1.8, in almost every quality.

IMO, though, it's worth it looking for a good copy of the Sigma 50 1.4 for $100 more. When you get a good copy of that lens, man it's good.
