Yes, it's the one by the battery with the brown and black plugs. Both are missing.

http://www.iaperformance.com/product...oducts_id=3217 ... it is different from their AVCS bulkhead wiring kit, which most people need to wire up their ECUs. |

There are 3 or 4 hard to get to bolts under the manifold that connect the fuel hard lines and their plastic shielding. Having done it once I wouldn't hesitate to do it again, but its definitely not as simple as the 8 bolts you can see from the top.

If you've pulled the manifold off once, it gets easier everytime. Yes, there are the "easy" bolts, and then there are the bolts that hold the plastic harness rail to the manifold underneath. What I was trying to get at was that, if you need to replace the harness, why not pull the manifold off and do some things (e.g. swap turbo inlet, and the fuel rail if you're encountering the smelly raw fuel issue, which I have) while you're at it.
And to lukeskywrx, isn't that the ver. 8 manifold with the long runners? If it is, you're lucky enough to not have to remove the TGV deletes like most of us ![]() Back to the OP regarding the cut harness, I think your best bet is to switch the WRX harness over, get a AVCS harness, and add/repin according to the DS1 instructions if you're not getting the IA Performance wiring kit. -Jeff |

So here's where I'm at with my swap.
04 wrx V8 ej207 Jdm ecu Currently no avcs Engine starts but idles at ~2100 Engine won't rev past 3000 Unplugging the MAF stalls the engine. Cleaned the MAF because it was nasty, idles smoother but no change. Could this be due to the JDM ecu and no AVCS? If you have any ideas while I search through the thread they'd be appreciated. |

No AVCS is going to trigger a bunch of trouble codes, is your CEL on? If so you are pry in safemode.
Also is your IACV OK? they tend to break in shipping so you might want to try your WRX one. Try your WRX ECU and see if it is better once you check the IACV. Quote:
It is the V9 spec-C manifold, same thing as the v8. I don't mind pulling the manifold, I run e85 so I get the delicious raw ethanol smell ![]() Quote:

Is the mouth of the V8/V9 DP cast iron? It looks rather beefy in the few pics I could find. Also, is the mouth of the DP split to separate exhaust gases and waste-gate flow?
Just curious as to how well subaru designed their DP to help spool |

After some research it does sound like AVCS induced limp mode (CEL is on)
We're working on wiring up the harness now. Thanks |

Sounds like a bad IAC, lack of avcs won't do what you are describing, I'm able to drive my car with avcs disconnected on a v8 ecu, check engine light on from avcs sensors. Put the IAC from your wrx engine in, try it.

But would the IACV keep the motor from revving past 3k?

We're sorting out the AVCS right now anyway. I also swapped over the WRX IAC with a new gasket. I'll update with changes shortly
