It has been an adventure. The first one the machine shop messed up the bore so I took a chance and put it together loose and it had to much piston slap. So I threw together a stock one to run while I built the new one, It lost a cam seal (1st time ever) and lost all the oil. Built the new one and put a fresh rebuilt tomei 7760 on it. That went 143 miles and the compressor nut came off and junked the turbo. Rebuilder won't fix it pos. Couldn't find the nut pulled everything, installed vf48 and nut showed up again junked another turbo ( must have been in the bypass hose). Just installed fp td06-20g, still tuning.

He forgot the loctight and is trying to blame me saying I installed it wrong. I have installed 6 turbos in the last 2 months with just that 1 failure. Yea i'm pissed. $1000 for the used tomei, $900 for the vf48 that the nut trashed, $650 for the fp 20g used = $2550 to put a used 20g on my fresh 2.1.

Ouch, sorry to hear about your troubles. Gl with the 20. I ran one with 91+meth and had pretty good success on track. A bit laggy day to day but ok.

I would def get rods not worth having to tear your motor apart after bending/breaking the oem rod! I personally thought I was going to be good with the oem STI rods but I thought wrong! I was at 550whp for around 5000 at 30psi with no probs. I turned the boost down to around 24lbs for winter and bent a rod around 4500 partial boost! So my point do it right the first time so you don't have to rebuild your block!

That's a nasty picture. Since there's already been talk about eagle rods I thought I'd ask what people have to say about them? I've read positive and negative things about them. Starting assembly on my rebuild here shortly and was hoping someone could shed some light? Thanks
