security dash light constantly flashing

car: 04 wrx

Problem: set my car alarm off the other day using the key fob on accident. Disarmed it like normal by pushing the unlock button...hooowwwweeevvveeerrr my security light on my dash has been flashing for a week straight now. It goes away when the ignition is turned on but as soon as I take the key out it goes to flashing...Doesn't seem to be hurting anything since the horns arn't blaring and the lights don't flash...Just annoying as hell!

any suggestions?

check the owners manual, sounds like you put the car in valet mode, aka turned off the alarm

Yup, valet mode...i feel dumb cause i "'tried" turning it off by opening the door and pushing unlock (thought thats how) but i lock the car, unlocked it, opened the door and HELD the unlock button till it went away
