I am trying to get this exact set up with the bluetooth steering wheel connection. Since I am new can someone give me a list of everything I need to buy, since I am going to try and install this myself and don't want to do it twice. Thanks.

You really shouldn't do that, as the seat bolts are terrible grounds due to the welds the current must pass through...you aren't helping at all by not having the bare wire against the welded bracket anyways...

You'd be better off using a bolt that holds the rear seat down, or something in the center console directly on the bed pan of the car.

New Headunit! (AVH-P8400BH).

Initial Impression:

This thing is FAST, and looks great. It's at least ten times faster than the X930BT.

Impressions after a month:

It's still FAST. and the video off of it looks very crisp and is a 10/10 in my book.

Picture at night:

Do note that in the video when I am searching for songs/artists it takes a second. That is only because of that fact that I have a 32 GB SD card in the unit with 29 GB of the total space being full. So for what it's worth, it loads 29 GB of Music incredibly fast, as well as doing a great job at using it's RAM to remember where in the song you left off at each different mode.

How long does that new HU take upon starting the car to start playing music from where you left off? I find JVC used to be the fastest at scanning the SD card and starting music, but maybe this has surpassed that point?

The unit is so fast, that it doesn't even have a splash screen. From Key turn the unit takes about 1-3 seconds to start playing music. It obviously takes a tiny bit longer for CDs/DVDs though.

I'm wondering how much clearance you have from the surface of the Sound Ordnance B-8PT to the seat bottom. Just thinking whether it will fit under a Recaro seat with lower than stock bracket.

Hmm, that's a good question. I think the clearance is 1.5-2 inches to the seat bottom.

Looks like I have to make some measurements under the seat and compare it to the thickness of the sub. Thanks for replying mate!

Thought I might update this:

I often make trips to NH from MD and I have the windows down most of the time so I was getting tired of distortion so I replaced the speakers. I purchased the Alpine SPR-60 series (C for the fronts) with a Pioneer GM-D9500F 4-channel amp.

I then took advantage of Black Friday and got the Kicker 11PES10C Subwoofer.

I had the speakers installed a couple weeks ago and the subwoofer installed yesterday. I also took out the S/O b-8PT while installing the kicker. WOW, what a difference. I now understand what people mean when they say that the bass has no depth. The new subwoofer has a lot more range than the S/O.

These are the items I now have:

Headunit: Pioneer AVH-P8400BH
Amp(s): Pioneer GM-D9500F
Amp Wiring Kit(s): Kicker CK series ZCK4
Front Components: Alpine SPR-60C
Rear Coaxials: Alpine SPR-60
Spacers: IA Performance Spacers F+R
Subwoofer: Kicker 11PES10C
Deadening: Dynamat (Front doors, Hatch Door, Trunk Floor)

I am absolutely in love with this setup and the sub doesn't really take up much space. I'll take some pictures of it later today.

p.s. if anyone needs/wants the MY11 premium speakers/components I have them.

Can anyone comment on the B-8PT vs the Basslink?

Tuning capability (dual 31 band Eq's, active crossovers etc) and install are the two biggest factors IMO.

Did dynamatting the spare tire area help that much? Im assuming it did since you got a sub that will actually bump hard now lol. After hearing such a big difference of how much the underseat sub compares to your kicker, I think I'm just gonna save up for the AI sub enclosure so it utilizes the hatch space efficiently but at a high cost Oh well, glad to hear your happy with your setup!

I'm not actually sure if it helped since I did it right before I put the sub in, but I'm sure it did as it made a phenomenal difference in the doors.

Yeah, I'd save up for the AI enclosure if I was you.

Aah love the hatchback. So much space lol. I'm tempting to get a subwoofer too as I can get a really good deal on it atm but I don't know if it'll like my music with a bunch of bass.

You'll love it, it's controllable bass so you can determine how it sounds.

How did you secure the SO sub to the floor under the seat?

I am going to install one in the next week or so in my 2011 Sedan.

the velcro works awesome. it's a tight fit, anyways, so it's not going anywhere.

I will most likely do this as well, if and when I do get an amp or SO underseat sub.

Thought that I'd update this again; here's my current setup:

Headunit: Pioneer AVIC-X930BT
Pioneer AVH-P8400BH
Pioneer AVH-4000NEX

Amp(s): Pioneer GM-D9500F
JL Audio 500/1D

Amp Wiring Kit(s): Kicker CK series ZCK4

Front Components: Alpine SPR-60C

Rear Coaxials: Alpine SPR-60

Spacers: IA Performance Spacers F+R

Subwoofer: Sound Ordnance B-8PT
Kicker 11PES10C
JL Audio Sealed PowerWedge™ enclosure with one 10" TW3 subwoofer

Deadening: Dynamat (Front doors, Hatch Door, Trunk Floor)

Pioneer BC-5 Rear Backup Camera

With this setup my subwoofer is actually in the spare tire well now along with the supporting amp so I finally have all of my trunk space back without sacrificing any bass! The amount of bass produced now is actually greater than that of before. It also is felt more uniform throughout the entire car since the sound is traveling through the floor up to the seats now.

Hope this helps!
