Would look ok with rollbar but just not my style. I like the way it looks and after body and paint will look even better. My little sleeper/honda eater... lol

Sweet build. I have a mint 78' wagon myself. I pondered this project many times. I have 2 big questions. First did u modify the frame rails? If so can we please get a pic of them. Second, where did u hide the legacy Ecu? That glove box is pretty huge.., well unless u have the mega rare factory a/c. Please keep the pics coming

Frame rails need to be cut and boxed in to fit the engine. The ECU is right under the driverside firewall in the cab.. The brat is a factory a/c car but decided not to go that route. Didnt know that a/c was that rare.....

I might turbo it after I blow the hybrid motor. I am pretty pleased with the performance so far. This thing rips already and could only imagine with some boost. I do have an Ej22t that is in my garage just waiting to be built.

Factory modern perhaps?

San Remo red would be pretty cool, or a more subdued Sedona red pearl.

Yeah the factory red Subi colors are awesome. I been leaning towards the factory red #85 but it's a little to orange for me. The other option is to do the total opposite and murder it out.
But then again don't want to stick out like a sore thumb.

Very cool. I am working on a wrx conversion to my 85 brat at the moment. Good to see another brat done up nicely.

If you're going for a full repaint, and thinking of other colors outside the red spectrum...Blue Steel Mica FTW!

Rally, I would love to see what you got going on with your brat. I went with the Gen 1 just for the sexy looks lol. Gen 2 shouldn't be that bad to get the rex engine fitted, #lotsaroom

Did you ever get a chance to hit the 1/4mi and see what it will do?

As for paint colors, I think San Remo red is too bright. I like the idea of Sedona Red. Of course, if you're not limited to stock Subaru colors, then there are all sorts of ideas out there.

I tried to run it down the 1/4 mile and showed up 20 minutes late to the track.(last min adjustments). Next year I'll be ready. I hoping to lay down are least 12's or better?
Paint and body are not my forte but I am giving a good shot, might need some help but just time consuming. I really like that San Remo Red but open to anything just no blues.

I bought the paint.... I went with the 22g San Remo Red.. Couldn't make my mind up but the red looks good. Like I said before body is not my thing. I will post pics of the work so far.

congrats on the awesome car, killer job! I'm a mechanic/custom fabricator,
I'm a Subaru builder, a Mitsubishi builder, (and a few others)... not to mention a Brat specialist... but the 4-5 Brats I've been owning/working on for the past 2 years have all been 2G Brats..

SOME DAY! I love what you've built
