I noticed oil consumption can also depend on driving. I burned some oil heading through the mountains with a lot of boost and then engine braking.
Since getting back I haven't burned any at all for a couple months. 10C of temp difference isn't going to change how much oil you burn.

yes, 10c won't change anything, but I think if turbo can be overheated and burn oil after that

I agree a PVC valve is cheap and easy to change! As well as a good place to start!

you think turbo can't leak oil from hot side to exaust? (yes, turbo can't BURN though, it can leak
)just want to know if such a consumption (if this is turbo related) can be seen from downpipe side when I remove it... |

Well I replaced the turbo with a vf43 that was used, rinsed the intercooler out with gas, put a new pcv valve in and changed the oil from Mobil 1 which the po used to rotella t6 and all seems good again ( crossing fingers). We will see on start up this morning how it goes.

Yes my car was tuned by Sti Mikey..... I also forgot to mention the next day after I got it running I made a vent to atmosphere catch can for the block to inlet and valve covers to inlet lines until I can afford something nicer, turbo put me back for alittle. I did not want to start building a film back up in the freshly cleaned intercooler.

Any update on this? I have same symptoms . Gonna do compression test this weekend and if ok, setting up appointment for a leak down test. I thought it was head gaskets but now I'm second guessing myself. Hope it's not rings.
