Default Quick question about the ej205

So I just picked up a beautiful minty 03 Wrx sedan with a blown motor. I've been doing some searching and came across a 99-01 JDM forester ej205. So my question is this, is the jdm forester long block the same as our bugeye ej205? Internals, cams, comp ratio, porting, stroke, etc.
I found it for a good price and would plan on using my manifolds, exhaust, turbo, harness, ecu, accessories, etc.

I've searched and came across a few uncertain answers.

I don't believe it is. That was a N/A motor with a completely different ignition system (distributor vs. coil on plug), so I doubt they are the same internally as well. Also I'm sure the sensor wiring is different.

If money wasn't an issue I would for sure go with a new oem block but like most hard workif Americans, money is tight. I borrowed money to buy the Wrx lol
