The roads are a little intimidating at first but after a run or two you figure out your personal groove. Most importantly don't overdrive yourself or your car and DON'T CROSS THE YELLOW LINE!!!!

Good advise for anyone. I would definitely do at least one trial run at 70-80% and get a feel for the road before really putting the wood to it.

We are planning to come up, but will probably skip most of the daytime group events in favor of some side trips (Biltmore, rafting, etc) but are in for evening shenanigans!

Just need to find a truck/trailer if I'm bringing the Subaru...

This is the second annual trip this specific group has gone on together. There's a lot more people joining us on the cruise up who have been doing it a lot longer I guess.

I hated my WRX...driving it any sort of distance was just annoying.

All I need to do is sell my WRX and buy a trailer. And trade my truck on a diesel.

Looks like a well organized meet... Props to you "yetogetanrs2" for getting this together. I might have to see if it's possible for me to make this meet... Won't know untill probably a month out though.

They were put on by the SE region... posted in this Forum, The first was May 2001.

2002 event (I was there, with my subaru too!):
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=126798

2003, my subaru actually made it to this one as well:
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=357557

I missed the 2004 event, was the same weekend as STPR and living in MI at the time it was a lot closer.

2005 - present my Subaru has been broken.

I was at the "official" meet in '07 and '09 as well in the RX8 and Solstice, respectively

------------------------------------------------
No A/C, no radio, RA gears, and a 9-month old = driving Subaru at highway speed for long distances is not fun.

Thanks man, I learned a lot from last years trip, seeing what people wanted and didn't want, what would work and what did not.

Safir, I can't admit that I have seen a large number of interest in the dragon from past year threads I've read. I actually got quite a bit of info from past years threads.

I know this isn't like a "super cool" official dragon run, but my goal is to make it that throughout the years to come. I personally already see double the interest we had last year come though this year. No one seems to actually keep up with a yearly "same date, same time" kind of run to make it a "trend". Which is my goal.

I would like to eventually make this "trend" into our version of the southeast go to meet.
