What items have you bought / thought about buying for your subaru that you thought was just down right utterly overpriced?

Front fender liner clips (all of them). Fender liner cost me $49, but total cost for all the clips was like ~$75

My FXT lip spoiler. I never curbed it, but it fell victim to heavy wet snow. They are $425ish from the dealer, and I don't believe there are any replicas out there. I just can't stomach spending that much on another...

My car. At the time there were no 2011 wrxs on any lots in the tri-state and were all receiving their last shipment at the sametime. Most of them were already accounted for or already had deposits. The first dealership in the tri-state to call me got my money. I should have waited the 3-4 months for the 2012s. My fault for not being patient.

my engine from RAW performance, cost me about $11,000 to put the substandard work right again $14,000 if you include the money for parts that I payed for and was told he ordered and I never received. Thats on top of the bill I actually paid him

jdm ej207 with "48,860km" on the deregistration papers.... Only to have it spin a rod AND crank bearing at the same time....closer inspection of everything shows wear from a motor that is closer to 160,000 MILES!!!!
we all know how much money these swaps cost...woulda have been cheaper and easier to just swap in a EJ257 from a USDM sti....oh well....H6 swap now... |

ST-40 355mm ST-22 345mm $4,650~... but i use them every day... so they might actually be worth it. plus, they're awesome.
so really? probably my PW TMIC. i mean really.... intercoolers... how much does it really cost to make one? oh well, it's a nice piece. my crawford aos is probably the same story. unless i'm just way out of touch on how much R&D, materials, and everything really cost. but hey, i understand that everyone's gotta make a living. no skin off my back. |

Thought of buying a STI when I had my 09 WRX. Definitely dodged an expensive bullet there.

My car, spent the same amount for a 2011 WRX with 6k miles on it as what a brand new one costs. It did come with a full TBE and a stage 2 protune from ray at turbotek though. And the dealership is still honoring my warranty.

Most HRE wheels. $1700 for a freaking wheel? They're very nice looking, but $1700 nice?

Full IPT build on my old 4EAT. Very overpriced for a transmission that was never 100% again after they touched it!

I believe this question needs an eligibility criteria. If your regular car payment is beyond 20% of your take home pay then your Subaru itself is overpriced for you. Parts and items for that Subaru are a moot point. Wouldn't the financial savvy here agree?
