My payment is about 20% of my net pay and I still consider it the most overpriced thing I've bought.

Gas sucks too.

I bought a tomei 7760 with a fresh rebuild and a one year garantee for $1000. 143 miles later the nut comes off the compressor wheel and kills the turbo. The rebuilder won't fix it. I take everything apart and can't find the nut. Put it all back together with a fresh vf48 and the nut shows back up and ruins my vf (must have been in bv line). Installed a used td06-20g. $2700 to install a used td06-20g.

RCE Tarmac 2s, haven't put them on yet. Most money I dropped on the car yet.

They're exact words were "We'll deal with subaru of america for you since you bought the car off us this way, so we'll do everything we can to try and have it honored for you." They also told me if I have to take it anywhere else to be sure and put the stock exhaust back on if I can. They gave that to me. I've got it all in writing so I have a little faith. They only charged my brother for parts at dealership price when he took his bugeye there to get the TGV's replaced. They said because he's a first time customer and because they misdiagnosed it at first they'd cut him a deal. Ended up costing him 300 bucks instead of the 1200 it was supposed to. They're a hell of a dealership.

Came in here ready to say that I paid $660 for the Megan Racing catback because I purchased the axleback and midpipe separately, but then saw that IIR is charging $692 for it now.

Still doesnt matter if they will "deal with them for you", because they have no say in what SOA will or wont approve. If SOA wont approve the repair, do you think the dealer will pay for it out of pocket? Dont think so.

So they are advocating warranty fraud. You know thats illegal right?

But anyway...Spec C roof vent. They obviously have the cool factor included in the price.

And the thin rubber lining that goes on top of your sideskirts, that rests against the body. Those bastards are 28 dollars per side

I would be more than happy to pay anywhere near $3.00 a gallon for premium. Average price for 93 in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago is around $4.00, that translates to about $120 a week for me

Last year I purchased a STi tmic and I needed the elbow that goes from the y pipe to the turbo. So I call up the dealership and the parts manager says "uh are they made out of gold?" I expected him to say like $50-$60 because I know that say "STi " on them so I chuckled and said "why how much are they?" He replied "$170" so of course I didn't buy it. Then also the window motor went in my wagon and they want $340 for it but the sedan one is only $90???

Luckily I'm not worried about it and they've already done more than enough for me and people I know to know they're not scumbags. I'm not trying to justify anything to myself I just know the facts of what I've already experienced. If they can't do anything about the warranty then so be it. At least they were friendly enough to try. I had already bought the car when they told me that so it wasn't a selling point or a fake promise to get me to spend money.

RA mudflaps, nuff said

I bought me some FLAPATAX mudflaps (quite the name eh?) for half the price. They are qualiity and RIGID (won't flap around in the wind/debris hitting them). Excellent alternative, especially for the price.

At first i didn't want mudflaps cause to me they looked stupid in pictures and ruined the "JDM sportscar" look I wanted. But in person they aren't bad and are growing on me. As hard as I drive my car and on the roads/conditions that I drive my car, they were a need, not a want.

Nah, I didn't mean it like that. It's just more than I wanted to spend on my car at the time. I would have much rather upgraded other parts prior to shelling out for a built short block (just to clarify the build a little). And unexpected elements caused the build to go longer than anticipated. It all worked out very well in the end and the motor runs great. I'm glad it went well, but just as glad it's over with.

I had hoped the stock motor would have held longer. The build was just more time and money than I wanted to deal with, period. Overpriced purchase I had no intent on getting into.

Probably would have to be when I bought a new oil cooler when I replaced my head gaskets (I had no signs of contaminants in the oil) I treated it like a spun rod bearing :| Waste of >100$ lol
