We have 10 degree F weather here and for some reason the boost onmy WRX is lower ??? (on my previous turbo car it would go higher in cold weather)
I'm running the same stage 1 91 Low wastegate as before, did a reflash, put on a normal wastegate map, atill the same.. all of them gave me a lower boost setpoint of around 10 psi instead of the rock solid 13.1 psi i would see on it during summer.. what gives ?

In the newer cars, boost target drops by quite a bit once temperature drops to 32F and below.

IAT Boost Target and IAT WGDC comp tables pull out boost when the intake air temp starts getting below 65F. They get really aggressive at such cold temps as 10F. I would imagine Cobb did not have much ability to tune their OTS maps optimally for such cold temps.
Your choices are to have a protuner tune it, or get ATR and adjust it yourself if you dare. |

checked it out in accesstuner and it's is that.
and no i won't play with fire...Id need a winter map and a summer map... and in winter having full boost won't change much when there 6 feet of snow everywhere. better to have lower boost in winter than ring lands popping. Last edited by fr0st; 12-26-2012 at 05:31 PM. |

OP, I was having the same question. Thanks for posting, and finding the answer. I wound up talking to Dom at Maxwell power and he echoed about the same as you just said. What a relief.
