Default Audi RS7 and Q3 RS due next year

RS7 to be mechanically identical to the Audi RS6; Q3 RS will receive 2.5-litre five-pot from the TT RS

Quote:
Audiís high-performance RS arm will launch four new models next year, including an RS7 and its first high-performance SUV, the Q3 RS.
Quattro GmbH chief Stephan Reil confirmed the launch of the new models last week, but did not go into detail. But Autocar understands that in addition to the recently revealed Audi RS6 and RS5 cabriolet models, 2013 will mark the introduction of the RS7 and Q3 RS.

The RS7 is tipped to be shown as soon as the Detroit motor show next month. Itís likely to be mechanically identical to the RS6, meaning power will come from a 552bhp 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8. A top speed of 190mph to match the RS6 Avant is also expected.

The RS7 is expected to be offered instead of a saloon version of the RS6. A similar strategy is employed with RS4/RS5 models, where there are estate and coupť versions but no saloon.

The Q3 RS was previewed at the Beijing motor show in April. Reil hinted that a production version would be shown at the Geneva motor show in the spring. The concept used a version of the TT RSís 2.5-litre five-cylinder engine tuned to produce 355bhp.

In my opinion, the sexiest Audi out right now is the A7 and the S7. The Audi S7 is the top-of-the-line high-performance version which is powered by a 4.0 TFSI twin-turbo V8 making 420-hp and 405 lb-ft of torque. While thatís pretty fast, Audi is reportedly working on some thing faster Ė the Audi RS7.
According to Quattro GmbH chief Stephan Reil Audi is going to be launching the RS7 and the Q3 RS in 2013.
The RS7 will probably debut at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show next month. Power is expected to come from the RS7′s 4.0 liter twin-turbo V8 making 5552-hp.
The Audi Q3 RS is rumored to debut at the 2013 Beijing Motor Show in April and will be powered by a 2.5 liter 5-cylinder turbo making 355-hp.

5552 HP sounds like overkill.

I think that's a typo. They must have meant, "44.0 liter twin-turbo V88 making 5552-hp."

Well, I just broke out in sweat. I've never played the lottery, but I might start tonight. RS7, you are my everything.....in regards to cars. What more could one want, outside of a $90,000 discount coupon so I could afford it.

only part killing it is the back, and if the rs6 is any indication i would say a tuned version would be a monster and a blast to drive, not that this wouldn't be in stock form. too bad only old farts will be driving it who wont use 50% of its potential.

SilverSaab, I totally understand where you are coming from. I mean if you had to have ONE car, the RS7 would be a great place to 'settle'

Interior looks great. I like the 2 "real" rear seats in particular.

The regular S6 will do 0-60 in under 4 seconds, the RS 6&7 are going to be crazy fast.
