I was driving home last night when I threw a code and the car lost almost all acceleration. I check the codes and it was coming up with codes p0123,223 108, 2433 and a few others. after resetting the ecu and unhooking the battery and restarting it, its holding onto the p0123 and p0223 codes. I have a little bit of smoke coming out smeling strong of gas. I know the 123 and 224 codes have to do with throttle/pedal position sensor a and be high. any help on how to fix this would be great. i am now out of my warranty by 1500 miles. I have stage 2 downpipe with perrin map.

Reviving this thread as I'm encountering the same symptoms on my '11 WRX. The car is stock though I do have an AP setup with the 'Installed Stock' map so I can pull codes easily.
This seemed to be triggered by going over a speed bump coming out of a parking garage at normal parking lot speed. After resetting the ECU the car runs fine while parked, doesn't throw codes and will rev just fine. Pretty much as soon as I start moving the codes get thrown and the car then barely limps along. CEL and traction light are solid with a blinking cruise light. I always get P0123 and P0223 when this happens though occasionally P0108 and P2443 have been thrown as well. I'm guessing that there's a loose connection or bad ground somewhere. I'm not an expert at where everything is in the engine bay but I've going through and poked at a bunch of the connectors that I can see and none of them seem to be loose. I have an appointment to take the car into the dealership on Wednesday but if I could get the car running before then that'd be much better Any thoughts or fixes that I could try to get this resolved? Thanks! |

Finally got the car into the dealership after the Christmas holiday. Turns out there was a broken\shorted wire from the main wiring harness inside the wiring loom. They repaired that wire and all is right again.
They found that with the car running the idle would surge when flexing the main wiring harness which of course lead them to find the bad wire. |

Hmm, my car is having similar issues and I'm thinking it has to do with wiring as well. Thanks for the update.
