why I never drive to any track event or "meet" with more than 2 other people.....no matter how "chill" a cruise is supposed to be, they always eventually turn into a crapload of people going fast....

Some driving was done at a private airstrip, crappy videos were posted.
Page 2 of the linked thread has pictures of someones girlfriend.
That's all.
Don't drive like an asshat and you get to keep your car.

Meh, a speeding ticket is not grounds for a towing. I would look into suing the department to recoup the cost of the tow.

"Augusta County Sheriff's Deputy Trevor Ross tells The News Leader that the drivers were speeding, cutting off other motorists and passing over double lines."

from news reports.

towing might be added to fine + court costs. Idle speculation until judge rules.

ps she's cute...was she jailed?

My dad is in law enforcement in that area. He called me earlier today and told me about this. Apparently they confiscated a bunch of GoPros, which will be used as evidence obviously lol. The reason their cars were impounded was because a lot of them were refusing to pull over for quite a while.

update on today's washingtonpost.com:

R.D. Copper’s pickup was puttering down a rural highway on a Sunday morning in the Shenandoah Valley when a showroom’s worth of luxury sports cars roared out of nowhere and made a beeline for him, police said.

The 15 or so customized BMW M3s, Lexuses and a McLaren zoomed closer and closer at speeds of up to 100 mph. They weren’t going to stop. Copper had no choice — he veered to get out of the way.

The wild scene got even stranger: Using handheld cameras, the D.C. area drivers filmed the moment the pickup lurched onto the shoulder and they blew past.
