So I called Goodyear at 1-800-321-2136 and told them I was calling about the noise issue with these tires. I gave them some basic information and explained that I had gone into the Goodyear store a year ago about the issue and couldn't get a resolution. Long story short, I'm getting a credit toward the purchase of new tires (have to buy Goodyear or Dunlop).

I wish I knew they were doing this. My rear right tire blew out about 2 months ago, and I replaced all 4 with a different tire simply because of the noise this tire makes. It starts out fine. Mine started to get loud around 20k. The grip is great though.

Don't care...I will never have another goodyear product on any of my vehicles. They have upheld their rep of making junk nicely. 20k+ on my Bridgestones and life is still good.

I had the Goodyear Eagle F1 A/S on my bugeye for a winter and a summer before I sold it.

They are a good tire. Dont worry. If you want a good A/S they will do just fine. My only complaint was they were a little loud.

One thing to consider is find a participating Goodyear dealer in your area and have them install the tires for you. That way if you get a tire that needs to be sent back they will take care of it for you.

Personally, I have nothing but good things to say about the tire. They handled well in the dry. In fact, my Evo breaks and slides sooner with the OEM tires than my bugeye did with the F1 A/S.

They are not, however, a dedicated snow tire so be careful. They do slide. Acceleration in snow is excellent. Use caution in turns and stops like any A/S, especially in fresh ice/snow and in exreme cold temps.

I see Tire Rack is pushing the Potenza RE960AS Pole Position as their number one tire now. I think any of the following three: RE960, F1, or Conti DWS will serve you well. I havent personally tried any of the Falkens so cant comment on those-

^I've seen people unhappy with the Conti DWS. I'd buy the Bridgestones.

Yes Ive been seeing that on more than a few boards.

Ive also seen bad things about the RE960 including many negative reviews on Tire Rack regarding flat spotting and poor snow performance.

I think Im going to look into the P-Zero or Proxy 4s-

If you think the RE960's are bad in the snow be prepared for a RUDE awakening with the P-Zero. I have had all three of these tires and the 960's are the best for any kind of snow. The P-Zero might as well be a summer tire....it really does a great job on dry pavement and rain. Snow...not so much.

For real, mine were really loud even after 300+ bucks worth of raammat. I now have my stockers on and it is damn near silent...

I'm getting the dunlop dirreza star specs as a replacement, but I might DD on my kumho ecsta asx.

I've had the DWS on for about a month now and a little over 1k miles and I don't want to be a copout to much but the jury is still out on these. The grip well in all conditions, including my slippery snowy commute this morning but they are a bit twitchy. I still want to get my allignment done and I need to play with the air pressures a bit but at highway speeds they are just a bit twitchy. I had the ContiExtremes for 30k and they never had this feeling. I'll report back after my alignment but I kind of wonder if I should bought something else.

btw, these were bought from the TireRack.

So what's the deal with the F1's? I put these on my moms Nissan Versa. Is there a safety concern?
