Default Help Needed - Michigan

Hello fellow Michiganders (is that the correct term?)

I just moved to the Flint area a few weeks and and left my previous Subaru network behind. I just ran into a significant issue today on the way home from the holidays out of town.

I believe I fried my turbo on the way home, I need a second opinion from a fellow seasoned Subie enthusiast.

Anyone want to lend the new guy an ear, to re-confirm my suspicions.

Thanks,
Jesse

I was just told about misubie.com. (I'm new too)

You may have some luck talking to the guys from there. Unfortunately I'm out of town for the holidays.

Good luck!

I'm actually very close to you but I am not all that mechanically inclined, and I'm new to Subarus in general lol... :: Good luck to you! And yes, Michiganders is the common term for us wack-a-doodles

misubie, yes. You could also try michiganace. xceedspeed is the street ricer forum. There might be some knowledge there, but they'll also tell you you need a BOV, an EWG, and stretched fit tires to be fast.

If you blew your turbo you'd most likely hear a lot of horrible screeching noises as the compressor and turbine wheels make contact with the housing. You would also tend to see a lot of white smoke coming out of the exhaust (non-combusted oil vapor). If you simply have a loss of power and loud noises check the gaskets on your uppipe for leaks. They'd make a lot of noise and as exhaust gas is escaping you'd lose response from the turbo.
