Does anyone have any of these on their vf series turbo?
I'm thinking about running one in my vf39 or twin scroll vf36 for crazy spool and torque.

And sixstarspeed does them (the one I'm looking at) for vf turbos. Including vf36.

Sounds interesting. I'd want to see how it performs vs stock first.

My vf48 is at six star getting this upgrade right now. I don't know what I will put it on when it gets back though.

In 2003 or so ion performance used to do this for the td04. At the time it was probably 800 bucks for a larger wheel and some porting. Half to a third of the price for a PE18xx turbos of the era for the wrx.
It really wasn't worth more than some increased spool and maybe 25hp more than a td04. I used to own one. Think about it, you now have the potential to squeeze more air, but you still have a small housing to push it through. The housing is your restriction! @$500+, you are better off saving for a more well put together solution. |

But is you want td04 like spool with vf power and good transient response. This is the thing to get.
Also can run Moar boast |

$500 for a shiny vf wheel is a waste.

So if the VF turbos are "throwaway" then what's a better option for 275whp with quick spool on my 2006 WRX? I'm at Stage2 right now and was planning on buying a low mileage VF39/43 and STI intercooler and getting the car Protuned. On a budget here so the used VF turbo's are appealing.

My 48 had 3000 miles on it when I messed up the compressor wheel. I couldn't just throw it away, so it made sense to me. Cheaper than a new one and im not going used.
