new throw out bearing at 40k??

so turns out i need a new throw out bearing at 40k miles and subaru says they wont warranty it. i think 40k miles is quite low to have my throw out bearing going bad, is it normal for them to go bad at such low milage? i have seen threads on these forums of people getting the same problem warrantied. so am i in the wrong by wanting them to fix it under warranty or are they in the wrong for not doing so and i should take it to a different dealership?
