WOW guys thanks alot! knew i could count on you guys!!!!

the guy did say he worked at silverline auto as a tech.

test drive was ok but at times it felt like it was going to die when it was idling. the coolant level was very low which made me think it had overheating problems or something. he told me he had the car painted by his friend but when you get up close to the car you can tell the paint job is horrible like they cut every corner to get it painted and sold. I know because I have been around that long enough ( dad being a paint tech and all). anyway i got under the car and there was like a string holding on the front bumper and the lip.......I would also say stay away from this car.

I bought an 07 sti from them with a "clean" title. But it was far from it. Carfax said it was clean 1 owner with 29k on the odo but 2 weeks after I got it. Turns out they swapped the original motor for a fxt motor. For no apparent reason. That's why

Sidebar...Aren't the motors essentially the same? Shouldn't CarFax have bought it back?

Not the same. 255 vs a 257. Why would Carfax pay for it? I know the have a bs guarantee, but this is clearly Silverline's screw up. Wouldn't you want the engine that's supposed to be n the car to be there?

Depends on the year fxt. Even the early fxt engine was called a 255, but it was internally identical.
If the heads are b25, the engine is identical.

I got a 2002 wrx for sale. Its got an issue with the tranny and it wont shift. Its an internal issue I know that. So it wont be able to drive. Its got 103k on it and had timing belt and maintenance at 85k.
The car has some aftermarket stuff including,
Tien lowering springs and tien strut bars.
Boost guage and Turbo timer
Turbo has been clipped spools nice.
Invidia down pipe and full 3in exhaust back.

I'm sure there is a couple other things but I can tell u more if interested. I am motivated to sell don't need the car getting ruined all winter outside. Texting works best for me.. 360-67o-6698
$4000 for a 2002 WRX with a bad tranny but in good shape otherwise? Okay, this could have some potential.

Can't test drive it due to transmission issue with 103,xxx miles on the rest of the car? Hmmm, wonder what else a test drive might reveal.

Tien (sic) lowering springs and strut bars? Hmmm.

Clipped turbo?

Run away.

Here is a heads up for any vw guys

http://portland.craigslist.org/clc/pts/3521818334.html

KEVIN MICHAEL GODDARD IS A THIEF. STEALS CARS, STEALS PARTS, BLAMES OTHERS TO APPEAR INNOCENT. HAS THEFT 1ST DEGREE CHARGES. FRAUDULENTLY STEALS VIN PLATES OFF CARS IN THE WRECKING YARDS AND KNOWINGLY PUTS THEM ON CARS. ALSO CLAIMS TO BE THE 'GOOD GUY' AND SOUNDS VERY CONVINCING. DON'T BE FOOLED, HE IS A DIRTY ROTTEN THIEF. STRAIGHT UP LIAR.

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS FAKE. MANY PEOPLE HAVE COMPLAINED AND CAUGHT HIM AND HE STILL WILL NOT MAN UP AND TAKE FULL RESPONSIBILITIES FOR HIS POOR CHOICES IN THIEVERY.

IF HE'S SO HONEST, WHY IS HIS MUGSHOT ON FOUR (EVEN MORE) WEBSITES? HE GOT VERY CLOSE TO BEING CAUGHT STEALING A MID 90S BLACK JETTA VR6 AND THREATENED, WITH INTIMIDATION AND SUBTLE HINTS OF VIOLENCE, TO STEAL IT AGAIN AND SUCCEEDED. HARASSED ALL THE OWNERS ONCE HE SWITCHED VIN NUMBERS TO RETRIEVE IT, BUT FAILED. NOW HE IS PARTING THE CAR TO HIDE HIS CROOKED WAYS.

WHILE ONE OF THE OWNERS WAS PICKING THE CAR UP, HE WAS CAUGHT PAINTING THE VIN PLATE HE GROUND OFF AND COVERED WITH BONDO TO MATCH THE REST OF THE CAR, THEN THE NEXT OWNER WAS TOLD THIS, BUT HOW DID HE KNOW IT WAS BONDO? HE PUT IT THERE. HOW DID HE RATTLE OFF SO MUCH INFO ON A MK3 JETTA WHEN ALL HE KNOWS IS MK2 JETTA?

CLAIMS THE CAR WAS REPORTED STOLEN AND WHEN HIS OREGON PLATES WERE RAN, THERE WAS NEVER A STOLEN CAR REPORT AND IT WAS LEGITIMATELY PASSED AROUND, BUT UNDER THE EVIDENCE FOUND PROVES HE STOLE IT AND SWITCHED THE VINS HIMSELF AND WAS AFRAID HE'D GET CAUGHT.

LOOK AT HIS FACE. THAT'S THE FACE OF A LIAR, A THIEF AND HE NEEDS TO BE BROUGHT DOWN. HE CLAIMS TO HAVE STARTED A VW ONLY CLUB CALLED "RUBADUB" AND IRONICALLY HIS EMAIL IS HIJACKKRUE(at)GMAIL.COM SO THAT'S A HINT AT WHO HE IS AND THE 'KRUE' HE HAS. THEY MAY NOT KNOW OF HIS WRONG-DOINGS OR THEY MAY BE IN ON IT.

IF YOU SEE HIM SELLING THE CAR OR PARTS (VERY EASILY IDENTIFIABLE) PLEASE CALL THE OREGON POLICE 503-823-0000 AS THIS CAR DOES NOT BELONG TO HIM. HE LIKES TO MOVE AROUND PORTLAND TO HIDE FROM THE 'RED ZONES' HE'S CREATED IN HIS THEFT-RING.

ENCLOSED IS A PIC OF THE CAR IN HARMFUL HANDS. HE STOLE IT ONCE, STOLE IT AGAIN AND IS NOW TRYING HIS BEST TO COVER UP HIS TRAIL BY ELIMINATING THE CAR COMPLETELY SO HE DOESN'T GET CAUGHT. HE'S OBVIOUSLY WELL KNOWN TO THE PORTLAND POLICE AS A CROOKED THIEF AND A WANNABE SNITCH MAKING PHONY CLAIMS AGAINST OTHERS. WHY WOULD PORTLAND POLICE DETAIN HIM AT GUNPOINT AND SEARCH HIM AND WHATEVER HE'S DRIVING? THINK ABOUT IT.

plz do not flag. many people do not want him to continue his terrible antics. Pass the word on! VW community AND Honda community!

WTF? 38k for a 2011 sti sedan with 27,000 miles on it. Wow. Looks to have a perrin front mount, but still. Love the Subaru resale value when selling, hate it when buying.
