trying to install a new engine in my 86 subaru standard. need an engine hoist. don't want to buy one just to use it once... I'm located in southeast Seattle (near Mt. Baker / Beacon Hill)
I'll buy you pizza/beer! ![]()

I am one guy! also, while I realize 2 strong people could lift the engine... it is very low in the very tiny/cramped car and covered in grease. lifting it by hand while bending at your back is not exactly the safest idea.

I've got one. Got a way to pick it up? How long do you need it? I'm in South West Seattle.

depends... does it come apart like a normal lift? I have a small sedan I can borrow from my girlfriend...
I'll need it for 2-3 days (prob over a weekend) depending on if I run into complications and need to pull the new engine back out for whatever reason. hopefully just need it for a day. |

it had an EA71 (1.6L) -- base model Standard -- no carpet, no 4WD, junk seats... no rear defrost or rear wiper even!
I'm dropping in an EA81 (1.8L) and hopefully a 4WD trans one day. |

It does disassemblen, normal cherry picker. Have you got the other one all ready to drop in? If so, maybe I can just drop by with it, help you pull the other one and drop the new one in. Should only take 10 minutes, I've done that one a million times. Pm me either way, |
