My car is at 7k now. When I went in they insisted that if I don't do the 7,500 mile interval maintenance for $129.95, they can void my warranty.
I look at what's offered for the 7,500 service it looks like just a lot of extra 'inspections' compared to basic oil change.
Can they really void my warranty for choosing basic oil change?
Especially if the manual doesn't specifically call out for these inspections.
They can't void your warranty if you can show that the services were done on time, even if you do the work yourself. Of course, you should save oil/filter/etc. receipts as evidence.
But the fact that this dealership made this claim makes them sketchy. Do your own work, if possible. If not possible, find a new dealership.
