Had the car at my tuners and they went thru everything. Then brought it to the dealership to double check and get an estimate for the insurance. They say bad tranny due to diff. Insurance said they would pay so I'm game.

Update, insurance is paying for damages to the body from the accident with no problem. Transmission they are fighting me on even after the tech told them that if I drove into a pothole (which turned out to be a huge gap in pavement from the construction ) and one tire spun freely and then one caught traction, it is possible that it would break the pion gear. So now day 5 without a car and Geico dragging feet!

Or a lawyer? Dealership has a "reasonable" argument for denying a warranty claim but insurance not covering damage from an obstacle in the road sounds wrong to me. Should fall under comprehensive coverage? I wonder if they would pay if you had filed an accident report.

Not wasting my time fighting. Dealer won't pay, insurance followed suit. Time to fix and go back to an American built beast. This thing is too fragile with its cheap as drivetrain

Umm yeah...a WRX is a cheap ass car with a cheap ass drivetrain But the $27k price is killer and can't get you into anything decent with a V8. Don't give up on Subarus, just buy the STI that is built to take a pounding...it's like the same price as a Mustang GT.

I'm just pissed that they advertise the Wrx as a performance vehicle. Hell the commercial for The WRX is of one drifting a corner or them racing one in Rally. But yet they told me that I obviously raced mine and that's why it broke. That is false advertisement ! They well performance bolt ons but if you put them on they want to void your warranty.

Just found out i can sell back my extended warranty that I had purchased. Might be enough to pay for repair work. Also found out that a pin in our transmissions is a known weak link. hmmm.

Tranny was fixed. All that was wrong was the front pinion gear chipped a tooth.
