It misfired coming off the dyno to go get street tuned. If the code was pulled, it would have showed the bad injector, which the car shouldn't have been tuned on. I didn't come on here bashing anyone. You turning me into someone who would do such a thing doesn't seem too far out of reach, though.

Just like the OP said there is two sides to every story. I work with the public and have to field blog complaints in my line of work. Over a million pcs sold and 1 or 2 negative blog comments have me sitting in the owners office defending our process and products. That said I have learned talking directly to the tuner/shop gets the best response, not everyone will be happy with my answers and yes I DEFEND my product. Also the state of mind the person is in when reading an email/blog comment can be taken out of context, just because how the "reader" reads into it.

Another thing we all must remember, time is money and in my business as well as Akuma, we must pay our employees and rent. I always try to be fair and discount things and treat repeat customers with the utmost respect as they are helping my business to be successful. Guys this is a business just like any other, does the doctor discount you for a preexisting condition, no.

I have learned from this way back when I myself "bashed" a tuner on one of my cars not even giving them a real chance to rectify (because I felt they were dragging there asses), this was when I was younger and did not have the responsibilities I have now.

Hell I came to John with a brand new 2011 WRX and he has taken care of me all along the way, yes we had some speed-bumps, but the way it was handled was great. Me "my wife is gonna kill me, I promised I wouldn't blow this one up", John "do not worry we will work this out and take care of it", "do you need me to speak to your wife?" The younger guys may not understand this dynamic that are not married.

They made me feel like they have my back and I knew Akuma was not going to be responsible for total costs, but they gave me every damn discount under the sun, what they paid for parts, I paid.

So let me get off my soapbox and I hope this all gets resolved! Good luck guys!

He only had to have the tests performed, then we could move forward. He would not have had to pay anything else toward the tune...I can not rectify a problem that I do not know exists. We also fixed more than just 2 or three couplers on your front mount kit.
So basically, you're saying you would have performed the tests for free?

I am saying your first course of action would have been to talk to me so we could discuss your concerns.

I never turn customers away when they have an issue or concern.

You still could have come in, once the issues were diagnosed/fixed(with us or elsewhere) and finished your tune at no charge to you.

I know a few shops that would have charged you full price and then again when you came back for the re-tune. We do not operate that way.

I understand you have limited funds/resources. You have to understand I am running a business and you received a service for which there is a fee. I will always try and bend to help the customer whenever possible.

I offered to talk with your dealership to see if we could figure out a possible solution. Maybe they would have paid for the diagnostic services, as we discussed. I also told you the few possibilities your car may be experiencing. There is always a way when you talk things out. A forum is a place you go when the shop basically tells you to go scratch, which did not happen here.

Cleaned? So are you going to have our name removed from this post...from beginning to end? That is fine because this is going nowhere and I don't have the time to go back and forth with this.

I can see if Matt will erase the entire thread and you guys can start a fresh one.

For what reason would this thread need cleaned or edited? This is an area-chat thread. All recent conversation is relevant. None of the conversation should be private.

There is a horrid lack of reading comprehension and understanding sometimes. It appears some members feel the need to state opinions, and included vague descriptions. Members of this forum, whether customers, vendors, owners, etc. are entitled to type away here. A vast amount of these members being current or potential customers cannot expect to type freely and not give the same respect to owners/vendors. No matter what party is correct.

The subjective and factual statements from both customers and places of business should be available to the community. Documentation truly helps strengthen the integrity and reliability of shops, while also promoting customers to speak accurately of their encounters.

With this information available, it allows members/viewers to perceive issues from an unbiased perspective and formulate their own opinions.

The problem becomes when facts are ignored and opinions start to dominate a topic. This particular issue should never have gone this far. It is a fairly simple concern that would have required a little more communication, and things would most likely have been sorted out.

Dispute resolution should follow something like this type of timeline:

-Customer goes to shop for work to be performed
-Shop gives the customer a written estimate based on his/her needs
-Work is performed
-Estimate is transcribed to a billable invoice and funds collected
-XXX Customer perceives an issue has occurred XXX
-Customer brings his or her concerns to the shop
-Shop should do what is necessary to solve the problem within reason
-problem rectified....
-If the shop does not attempt to solve the problem professionally then other
means of resolution should be pursued ie. Forum bashing/CC charge
reversal/mediation/etc..

If a customer goes straight to a forum, then the shop can not do the right thing to fix it. If a shop tells the customer to go F-off, then they deserve a thrashing.

There are too many people working behind the scenes when this stuff happens. Other shops with multiple usernames, friends of friends, 3rd hand experiences. There is no accountability for the person who is slandering the shop. There are a few people in this thread that have said things about shops that have never had any actual work done at the shop in question. I would think a first hand experience should be a minimum requirement to talk ***** about a person or a shop.

Maybe what this board needs is a Forum where Dispute Resolution should be put. Any thread with a dispute should have to go to that forum specifically and not be spread out all over randomly bogging down unrelated threads.

Just a thought.

no need to erase the entire thread, just go back and delete yourself and lou's posts...this isn't the first time thread in tristate had to be edited when shops got involved.

I am trying to rectify an issue. Lou came in here and decided this would be the way he would get his point across. The vendor involvement is not the reason this could be deleted.

We are trying to be proactive and keep the customers happy and keep Akuma's reputation positive. I think you agree, I had to respond to show what happened and how we were willing to resolve the issue...ie customer service.

I still think we should have a specific forum where all dispute/resolution should go. Keeps threads like this clean and streamlined.

There is a section, vendor/shop reviews. But it always spills over into local chat threads.

Unfortunately, there are some people that are biased and hate on Akuma. But there were also people in here who stood up for you until we got the full story. Those of us who can read are able to see you made the effort to help this guy out, and unfortunately he wasn't satisfied for whatever reason.

Thanks man. It is all we can ask for, and objective view of the facts. We are really focusing on customer service and follow up. I want to avoid having to do this he-said-she-said kind of stuff.

Well then! I think we all learned, if we didnt all know, don't buy a modded car if you don't know what you're looking at. Bolt on's are one thing, but turbos, injectors, and what not and from a DEALER!? It says you work for a dealer right? Don't you know they hide everything? And lie just to get you to sign? This was clearly someone else's project that they traded in for a new (stock) car.

I've looked at the posts. I see a complaint that led to a discussion between the customer and the vendor. It should have happened via pm not in the thread but I dont see anything requiring an edit.

However, all threads are supposed to be closed after 2500 posts so the thread is going to be closed due to unrelated reasons and a new thread can be started any time and I'll close this one. The issues with Akuma seem to have been dealt with as this thread permits and there is no need to continue the discussion, by anyone, in the new thread.
