From all the info that has swirled around here it seems dealers get their stock based on what they sell. The larger dealers in California all have tons of WRX's, as I think it is a more popular vehicle on the west coast compared to Subarus on the whole. (On the east coast everyone drives a subaru because they're great in the winter, out here nobody drives a subaru unless it's a WRX/STi) So if you have a large dealer that isn't getting a lot it's probably just because they haven't had much luck selling them in the past for whatever reason. In general though, it's the WRX/STi allocation that matters, not the overall size of the dealership. So if you see someone with 20+ in stock that's the dealer you want. Mine had 47 when I ordered!!

I'm sure if we did a poll of how long people had to wait vs how many WRX's their dealer has in stock we'd see the long wait time people have dealers with just a few in inventory.

Well, a couple hours after he emailed me saying Jan 14 for the ETA, he calls and says it's here! Woohoo!

Unfortunately, my wife is in ATL visiting friends until tomorrow night, so i will have to wait to pick it up until Wed morning. ARRRGH!

i new to the forums and just looking for some insight on the 2013 sti..... I have a 06 wrx tr sedan clean title with the infamous compression ring problem... my mechanic told me i need a rebuild or to drop in a new motor..... i not really good with cars so dont even want to deal with it.... so im trying to sell it as is and just get a 2013 sti instead.... in suggestion on what i can sell it for if it has 178,xxx miles and a clean title but needs a rebuild or engine swap..... and if it was a good idea to buy a new car and sell 06 wrx as is or should i fix...

Yup, it will be a long day. I'll spend the evening trying to clean out my truck for trade-in appraisal. I spent yesterday cleaning and applying wheel wax/protectant to my winter wheels (stockers from an '05 WRX, w/ Blizzaks).

I also picked up a set of 05s but mine came with winter forces on them, and I got them powder coated semi flat black. I think I may need to drive by my dealer to see if mine came in today as well.

Hi guys, I have a question for you all. I ordered a SWP base model WRX last Friday and i get a call today from the dealer asking if i would be interested in a different color because he said they would have a really hard time getting me SWP. Unfortunately i was working and could not talk so asked if i could call him back. My question is if i am ordering it aren't they shipping these things from Japan? why would the color matter. (got out too late to call him back)

Yeah it doesn't sound like he's actually ordering you a car, more like he is going to look around and see what's out there. Did you get a VON (vehicle order number) when you placed your order? And did he take a deposit from you?

what was your schedule date? Also, do you know what port philidalphia dealers use? Is it baltimore port?

I called to see if my dealer had any updates on my 2013 limited. I was told that my car was in the production stage. Then he tells me that I must have barely got my order in intime because SOA wasn't accepting anymore orders now.

Seems kinda weird, perhaps the dealerships allocation is what he meant? I placed the order on 12/15. Anyone place one in the past week or so?

Which port are you at?

Baltimore port closes on sat/sun and my car got to port on 12/28 and the schedule date was 1/02. You can do the math

Congrats guys. I really would love to get into a new hatch but the thought of starting from scratch is both exciting and scary. There's no way I could drive it stock after driving my car as it is now and I don't want to have to start the nodding process all over again yet

That's something I kinda dread... Not modifications, but getting it to be "My Car." Things like tint, cosmetics, etc.
