You could find a used borla for $300. I've seen them on here. I think someone has an spt for sale now and thise sound good and are great quality. Since most aftermarket pieces are stainless you shouldn't have to worry about rust. After 8 winters mine is still great, even the connector like was mentioned earlier only has surface rust.
I have the adapter for the borla I never used. It's brand new, you can have it cheap if you buy a hush. You'll need it for almost any dp besides stock or cobb, which is what I have. |

So I need a special adapter, going from a 3in DP, to a 3in CBE? What sense does that make? How would they not mate up?

Typically a dp mates with a cbe. I run a Turboxs stealth back and a devil axle back, so if i want a thermal,hks,tanabe,ect....cbe i.need. a special midpipe adapter so i can run.them. Or if you run a jdm dp some of those are funky

But, you should make sure your dp will mate up with your stock cbe if you plan on running that while you look for an aftermarket 3in cbe. |

Ups just dropped off the invidia v3, today I'm going to wait til the cbe shows up(should be Monday) then ill have to wait til next weekend to put it on. Thanks a lot work. Pretty pumped to finally get some Subaru rumble though, I'm honestly not worried about hp numbers or how much faster the car will be, I just want the Subaru rumble for now, then if I feel like it (which I know I will) ill do other upgrades but for now ill be happy enough with full 3in exhaust(after turbo) I want to do up pipe too but I heard aftermarket up pipes make turbo spool real slow(late) maybe a used sti up pipe will be as much as ill do

......with a catless Invidia DP. Hope that isn't a CobbAP with an off the shelf map. Although an OTS map is better than no tune at all while you wait for a specific map, still drive cautiously if you must. Get a specific map from a reputable e-tuner or pro-tune by a reputable local tuner. Good luck, I'm sure you will be satisfied with the results.......and only a short matter of time before you are planning your next mods.
Not sure which cbe you purchased. But in regard to the Borla, it ships with the 2.5" adapter that will mate to the OEM dp or one of the OEM-like aftermarkets ones (i.e. Cobb). The reason some of us mentioned the 3" adapter is due to having to buy that separately (use it in place of the 2.5" adapter) when you are using a dp with the 3" outlet flange (i.e. Invidia). |

so i have the invidia v3 3in divorced dp here, the gimmick v3 vband cbe will be here tomorrow morning, i have a new rear 02 sensor, gaskets, dei wrap for the dp, and 3 kartboy long hangers for the gimmick muffler(wagons have crappy clearance i heard). Couple little questions, I hear that with a catless dp, the rear 02 sensor will still throw a code bc its now going to be measuring uncatted exhaust, theres a threaded extension I read about that you can thread into the DP then thread the new 02 sensor in.. worth it or a waste of time. Also, I plan on doing an uppipe soon due to the catted stock uppipe, i dont want the cat internals to break apart and EFF up the turbo fins(or worse). I was thinking an aftermarket up pipe,(suggestions?) which I will also DEI wrap, w/o 02 sensor bung then doing the 2.2Kohm resistor mod for the CEL. Is this a decent fix or are there better ways. I have a Cobb AP, I will obviously be putting on the stage 2 tune right after I get all the exhaust on, and I know it will be overall beneficial to get an actual tune from a shop (ill be going to ET Tuning(union, mo)) which is about an hour and a half away however I wont be able to go for a little while. Will the stage 2 tune from an AP be enough for now until I can get to ET Tuning?

Ok sweet then ill deal with the cel til they take it off, I hate having a cel on so it'll bother the shiz out of me and motivate me to go get a proper tune sooner, will hitting any decent amount of boost before I get the tune hurt anything?

Do the uppipe before the tune at that shop. Like mentioned before a good used STI, 2006-07 WRX uppipe, or any reputable aftermarket one will be fine. If it has a flex joint in it, do not overwrap that portion. |

Don't have the up pipe in yet, but with the invidia v3 divorced waste gated catless downpipe and the gimmick vband catback, it sounds great, runs great on the Cobb ap stage 2 tune. I have an exhaust leak at the vband connection and I've already tried messing with it but its still leaking, not sure what to do
