I just got an acces port for my 05 sti, I'm all stock so my question is, is it safe to run it? All I have is a cat back. Please let me know.

Did you not visit Cobb's website before purchasing the AP?
Buy a downpipe, flash stage 2 map that is suitable for the fuel available to you(91;93). Then find a reputable local tuner to custom tune the car for your goals/fuel/setup/.... You get the idea. You have a great platform to start with. Take the time to learn about what/what not to do with these cars and you will have a long and happy relationship with you're AMAZING automobile! Good luck! |

And yes, it is safe as long as you can follow simple written instructions. |

Because I'm paranoid, I run the 91 octane map and use 93 octane gas. It makes me feel like I have some extra margin for error and the power differences are small. |

Leecea lives in Russia, in a village where the gas is not always as advertised. Rather than worry about putting 93 octane into a 93oct tuned car, and having it cause knocking due to poor quality gas, he tuned it to 91octane, puts in 93 octane fuel and then knows that he's safe.
To the OP: 1) Read the manual 2) If you don't have the manual, go to Cobb's website and download it. 3) If you don't have internets, call Cobb. 4) Read the manual again. |

Item 1 is knowing that you reseach THEN buy.
Item 2 is knowing that asking this question is EXACTLY like asking us if Coke is a good beverage. Cobb = Coke in the Subaru world. Please visit their website, download and read the manual along with all the map notes and visit our car parts review forum for more information. |
