Hey NASIOC, I guess I’ll give this a go. I’m SSgt Jacob, USAF. I’ve been in the military since 2004 and owned my WRX since 2009. I purchased it on a whim after a wreck. There was only ONE WRX wagon that I could find in the southeast so I bought a one way ticket to Houston, TX to go after it. I never thought I’d start modifying my car like this. I found NASIOC looking for info on what to look for when purchasing a used WRX sparking my interest in moding the car. I started with some simple audio upgrades, and then found the stock tires to be wimpy, and the snow ball started rolling from there.

I never saw myself as a car guy but I have since found this to be an amazing hobby. I’ve learned so much from the community and have been working to pass that knowledge on as I get to help other people getting into these cars. This wagon has been both an incredible joy and an incredible pain. When things break, it’s always in dramatic fashion, but when it’s good it’s so much fun. I daily drive my car and use it for all my outdoor hobbies as well. It took me a long time to decide on a direction for the car but I think I’m starting to get it. Function is always first, then style.

I hope to keep the car going for a while to go, 170K miles on the body now. 2 summers ago while at a Tech school in Wichita Falls, TX the car developed a leaky Head Gasket. So I dropped the car with Cobb Tuning Plano and they cleaned up the motor. On the drive back to NC the transmission grenaded itself leading me down the path to a PPG transmission. That was a hard line to draw that summer to keep the car with so much more being invested into it.

Hopefully the future will be kind. At this point future plans include brake upgrades, possible suspension upgrades, and styling tweaks. Power is fine right now; set for low end on all the twisties in Western North Carolina (I live 30 minutes from the Tail of the Dragon)! While everyone likes “MOAR POWER” my pocket book does not

Hmm how about a double Bio then?

Joined the Army in 2006, been in 6 years, doesn't seem it though, I've done 2 tours to Iraq, and am still going strong. Returned from my first deployment and bought a 2008 WRX, last one on the lot, liked it so much, that I decided to upgrade to a 2009 STI. Since then I've earned alot of grey hair over the car, but in the end I feel I have built something unique that reflects myself quite well. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, I never fault them for that, I learned when I first bought the STI and felt the hate from other brands that people were not going to appreciate the things I did to it, so I like to think I've climbed above the trivial hate from others, and instead of hating all brands and cars not like mine, I instead appreciate all makes and models, because of the enthusiast that owns the car and tries to display their personality through it. Anyways on to the car.

It started out as a base model STI, no fogs, no BBS, no NAVI, I had my "I got a new car but I know nothing about subarus so I'm just going to throw parts at it and drive it like a D-bag" phase, and have since been working towards building a proper daily driven street terror, which it is just about there. Hope you enjoy.

I would be lying if I said I liked every part I've put on it, but it's a journey to figure out exactly what I want and what I don't, things may be changed, it's a never ending journey....

Here she is Stock as a rock

and after a deployment and some modification here is how she sat for a long while, this is me headed to the Wicked Big North West Meet with VIPER-00 behind me (StreetSweeper North West)

I had been toying with the idea of changing the exterior for a while and after some design in a few video games and photoshop I decided on the proper pattern, and had Guardline apply it, and here's how she turned out, hitting up a JNA Performance show in the process...

Finally upgrading some of the pieces that the car didn't come with because of it's package, I threw Foglights and wheels on to it, however my lips been sliced in 2, and although Zipties do the job, they aren't really the best look for my car so no lip for now

And how she sits as of a week ago....

A few shout outs ahead

Thanks to Mod Guru for the best Fender Roll I've ever felt on any car.
Thanks to Guardline for continually fixing and tweaking your wrap.
Thanks to Outback Automotive for building my motor for me in record time.
Thanks to Force Fed Performance for the most recent work done.
Thanks to Eddy and Gino and Hector even if you guys hate me for the work and knowledge you've pushed my way.
Thanks to my brother for being the most resounding source of guidance through all my endevours with the car.
and thanks to RallyRacerXMedia for the most recent publicity surrounding the car.

Hope you guys enjoyed the car and my write up and thanks everyone who posted up for serving.

I've been in the United States Army for 9 years I'm currently a Staff Sergeant and getting ready to deploy on my third deployment. I spent my my first 7 years as a sniper in a recon unit where I deployed as the platoon the company's sniper. I my unit received a very high casualty rate and specifically my platoon lost 9 guys in a single attack where I myself was injured and medevac'd receiving the purple heart.

Currently I'm assigned to special operations and deploying in 6 days.
this is my 2nd STI, I purchased my first STI after my first deployment and this one after my second. my car is pretty bland to the naked eye, but for the same reason I've gone to airborne school, sniper school, jump master and SERE I'm an adrenaline junkie therefore my cars mods serve one purpose.. To improve speed and handling not appearance. It's my "race car" I compete in SCCA SOLO and have wrapped up 2 region championships as well as a state championship, to include "fastest military" at the NC state championship held at Cherry point marine base.

I will also be featured on SPEED CHANNELS upcoming tv show " R U faster than a redneck"

Hey Nasioc, And Veterans.

Not gonna size in on the Dick sizing contest. Just stating SGT, 2 deployments, 11B1P.

Seen alot, Lost alot, Gained alot. I miss the service.

But onto my 2006 Subaru Impreza STi.

Mod list

Kartboy Shift Nob
LED White Interior Lights
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Sticker on back window (for the wife)
Autozone Locking Gas Cap

And thats about all. Had to replace some OEM parts compliment of Image Import Racing in florida, and great mechanic blkwagon here on nasioc. Mostly previous owner negligence. About to buy a rebuilt turbo, VF39.

I will infact try my absolute hardest to keep my vehicle Stock. I love the way it rumbles, I love the way it turns, I love the way it sits high so I can park over the curbs... I love the fog, the snow, the mud, the road. Man, I absolutly just love this car. Needs 1 more sticker, and maybe a roof vent, and thats about all. Say hello to my OVERPAID 2006 Subaru STi

Front fender needs to be painted as well all previous owner crap!

I'm currently in the Army and Stationed at Fort Carson, CO about to PCS to Germany with my Subaru. I bought my first Impreza back in 2008, a 1999 Rally Blue coupe, which got me started on modding and everything. I started small and worked my way up the list of stuff to do to my car. Then about 2 years ago my Impreza was totaled after a snow storm when a minivan slid into my passenger side B pillar. I was upset that my car was totaled but I found another 1999 Impreza Rally Blue coupe for sale nearby in Longmont, CO. I bought the car about a month after mine was totaled it was already swapped with WRX and STi parts. Since I bought the car 2 years ago I've done a lot of work on it and just got some good photos of the car yesterday. I've enjoyed multiple SCCA Auto X and Rally X events and even a little Ice Racing that is offered out in Colorado when I have the time.

I didn't really give a short bio of myself at first. I joined the Army in November 2005 and I get promoted February 1st to E-6/Staff Sergeant. I have a wonder wife who has helped me numerous times with building this car, and 2 kids who love my car. I have been deployed 3 times in my 7 years of Active duty. I am a part of the Signal Corps in the Army and I love my job.

For those who don't know me, I'm Ben Kell, some may know me as Ken Bell ... I was first introduced into the Subaru scene 7 years ago when a co-worker (SnoCoWRX) dragged me down to Portland for Subie Fest 2. I instantly fell in love with the cars and went out and bought my first one as soon as I returned home. I have since had 4 Subarus starting with an 06 Aspen White STi, then a 05 Satin White Legacy GT, followed by an 05 PSM WRX wagon. I then changed up scenes a bit and went to a BMW for about 2 years. It just wasn't the same experience so I knew I had to get back into a Subaru, which is where I am today with my 06 CGM WRX Wagon...

I was not planning on doing much to the car except a few simple clean mods since this is my daily driver... but we know how that normally goes. One thing after another.. got bit by the mod bug! I have made some of my closest friends through the Subaru/car enthusiast community and love having such a close group of friends who all share the same passion. I have now had the car for 2 years and have made many updates to it, with plans for more power in the near future. Here is my current mod list. Enjoy and thanks for looking!

I guess it was only a matter of time before I threw my hat into the Top Scoob ring. I'm nowhere near the mods of most of these wagons in here, but I'll give it a shot. Hopefully some people out there respect the what I'm doing with my wag. IMO it's all in the details with my car.

I bought her new in the summer of 2007 as a graduation gift for myself. From the beginning I wanted something super subtle and nicely powered for a daily driver. One thing led to another, and here's what I've come up with. All work except the transmission swap was done by myself with the help of a bunch of local Subaru friends. From the outside one of the only ways to distinguish the Stealthwagon from her stock counterpart is the STi lower control arms & lateral links, giving it a much wider track. Gives it a mean stance while still maintaining the sleeper look. I tried to keep most other parts as OEM as possible as well. IMO, this is what an STi wagon should be from the factory.

6 years and 105k miles later, here she is....

-VF34
-STi TMIC
-Cobb catted downpipe
-Borla Hush catback exhaust
-DOM Tuned (299hp/324tq)

-'05 STi R180 & driveshaft
-Hybrid rear axles (Suberdave custom race)
-OEM STi clutch and flywheel
-DCCDPro Universal DCCD controller with OEM STi controls
-Kartboy STi short shifter
-Kartboy STi front shifter bushings
-Kartboy rear shifter bushing
-TiC linkage bushings
-STi titanium shift knob

Suspension:
-JDM YO V8 STi lower control arms
-STi lateral links
-OEM STi front sway bar
-Whiteline STi 22mm adjustable sway bar
-STi Kartboy endlinks
-Subaru STi Wagon Pink spring
-KYB AGX struts

Well I debated throwing mine in with these nice rides. Specially after Joe entered but **** it here it is.

I bought this sweet little 2005 WRB WRX wagon brand new in November of 2004, it had 16 miles on it. It was bought as a daily driver as I needed a car to get me around in Tahoe where I live, and get to snowboarding. It remained stock for a little while. Then started with a cat back exhaust (mmm rumble). Then an STi intercooler, STi Scoop/splitter, and springs. Then I got into auto-x and the snowball of mods really got started and has evolved to what it is now. It had been a daily driver up until about last year when the swap was done, only due to me picking up an RS to drive while it was down, then I kept the RS and switch between them for daily duty, and the wagon is now more for Auto-x and hopefully some track days this year. Mine is a bit different than most of the other ones posted so far, as my external mods are pretty minimal.

I have concentrated on function with my build, and started with Brakes/suspension then finished with the swap. It had many different configurations in between (VF34, 18G, suspension, brakes, etc.) Well here is what it has transformed into so far :

K-dogg, awesome ride!

I'll throw mine in the mix. Nowhere near as competitive as with some of these other rides. I just bought it last May with 38K miles. It was completely stock. First mod was a infant car seat as my wife and I were expecting our first child. The last several months I have been slightly modifying it. Its a short list, my daughter has taken up most of my free time and money. Here is the list:

Interior:
Cobb STS
Cobb Knob
Infant seat

Exterior:

Enkei Raijins 18x8 Gunmetal
Generals all-season 225/35

Engine:
Cobb Downpipe
Cobb Catback

My name is Tina and this is my very pink accented wagon. I have always been into cars but only got into Subarus when I met my Ex and he and I purchased this car together. I remember driving her home and taking the corner onto our street in third gear and uttering “whoa!” aloud. He said “See that is why I wanted this car!” I was hooked.

Now the wagon is mine and has been for almost two years. I immediately personalized it with Pink accents. I always wanted to do that with one of my past cars but never got to it. I found it so fun and easy to do myself. I dug into researching suspension and power modifications and have big dreams. They have partially become a reality in the last year. I cannot be any happier. Before I even started driving I wanted a WRX wagon as my first car. Being 16, at the time, it was not feasible. I began saving as much as I could to buy one. After driving my friends 92x to Wicked Big Meet and back to PA I decided to look for one. I purchased my 92x a few weeks later in June of 2010. The previous owner had put swift springs and O.Z. superleggra wheels on. I didn't plan to do anything else to the car. Then about 2 weeks later I found myself browsing for parts everywhere online and wound up with a collection of stuff to put on all at once. I put all the parts on myself with help from friends and I would detail it for days whenever I had the chance, it was my baby. It started to become exactly what I had envisioned after putting all of my parts on. It was MY car. On February 2nd, 2011 around 8 o'clock I was driving with one of my friends. We were on an unfamiliar road so I was driving the speed limit (35), as we were almost out of a very mellow left turn, the back of the car slid to the right. My instinct was to correct the car to the left. I began to turn the wheel to the left, not even a quarter turn, and I was sliding across the road toward a bunch of shrubs. Bracing myself for what I thought would be a small ditch and light damage to the car, I felt the front end dip down fast and realized it was a cliff. Front end first down a 15 foot cliff, into a small creek, hitting two trees on the way down, and then landed on the passenger side. I couldn't believe it was real. I didn't know how to feel and I just started screaming with anger. It was totaled. There wasn't much left to the front end, the hood was pushed up near the windshield, and both front fenders were bent. The whole passenger side was dented, scratched, and the windows were all shattered. All of this because my rear left tire blew out. I still miss it to this day. No car after will ever be as special to me as my saabaru.

2005 Saab 92x Aero. Arctic Silver. Cold weather package.

I can't find any pictures of the damage.

I only had the tint, rain guards, and urethane mud flaps for 4 days before the accident. And the STi seats for about 2 weeks. My next step was going to be injectors, turbo, tmic, fuel pump, and a tune from EFI.

Hey everyone, I would like to submit my wagon. Known as the LegaSTi, she is a 1998 Legacy GT wagon bought for a few thousand bucks back in 2009. She served many years for me as a daily driver using the stock 2.5 n/a DOHC engine and 5-speed tranny. The Legacy took a backseat for a while and did the "daily car" routine when I purchased my 2011 WRX. But now both cars share my attention (and money) when it comes to modifications. But my Lego wagon will always hold a special place in my heart.

Help me show everyone that the older, larger "girls" can play just as rough as these new hatchbacks! lol

As with many cars, she has gone through subtle changes throughout the years, but as the Legacy sits now here is the current mods and progress:

1998 Subaru Legacy GT wagon, Rio Red:

Exterior:
-JDM Legacy GT-B Limited front bumper w/ beam and full light set up
-JDM amber side turn signals
-JDM rear middle garnish and tail lights (smoked version)
-2011 WRX wheels (pre-swap)
-2004 STi silver BBS wheels (currently)
-Full roof rack (because racecar)
-Dents and scratches
-Personal license plate in tribute to James May

Interior:
-Full 2004 STi interior (in progress)
-Includes carpet, dash, middle console, door cards, front seats, rear (yes the rear too) seats

Brakes:
-2006-2007 Subaru WRX 4pot/2pot set up with hawk pads
-PowerSlot front discs
-DBA rear discs

Suspension:
-2007 WRX shocks H&R springs (pre-swap)
-Stock WRX springs and shocks (current)
-(STi coilovers coming soon)
-2004 STi front swaybar

Engine:
-2004 STi full engine/harness swapped over. (w/ Utek piggyback)
-2004 front end (hubs, control arms, etc.)
-Custom (to length) magnaflow exhaust

Drivetrain:
-2004 STi 6-speed w/ DCCD
-2004 Full rear end
-1998 4EAT legacy driveshaft

Forgive me if I missed anything, but the car is pretty much 95% 2004 STi. All work done at TNA Performance , thanks for putting up with this challenge! Now for the pictures, please note that pics with the 2011 WRX wheels are before the swap. Pictures with the 2004 STi BBS's are after the swap. Also thanks to all my friends who helped at Central Houston Car Meets.

I always seem to find out about these things when it's too late, but hopefully I can still play...

Introductions first... I'm Leon and I'm a Subaholic... (You: Hi, Leon...)

I bought the wagon with 500 miles on the ODO in 2005, and within a week I had new rims, and to say that it escalated from there would be an understatement...

It all started with a VF34, STi TMIC and STi pink injectors, then a year and a half later, the hunger for more power started to manifest itself.

So I ended up buying a salvaged STi with 1500 miles on the ODO and had Steve @ Aerosim spend countless hours swapping the whole STi into the wagon.

Then an FP Green with FMIC and then I met Dom @ MPS and that really got the ball rolling... Me being a shopaholic, combined with Dom's passion for trying new things seemed to result in a perfect combo!

Then at A West Coast Subaru Show, Johann Ave and I got to talking and the topic of tire width limitations on the wagon's came up. By that time the car had more than 500 AWHP, yet I was still rolling around on 235's...
He wanted to do another Widebody wagon, as he had had one himself, but this time, he wanted to do an OEM look, and fully welded panels. He made me an offer I could not refuse, so now I can run 17x9.5 rims with 255's

And now the latest incarnation of the car has turned it into a track car, as it's currently getting a full cage welded in... No.way.back...
I always say that I just happen to run into the right people at the right time, making lifelong friends and allowing me to step up my game along the way.

I could not have built this car without them! (Dom, Craig and Dave @ MPS, Wayne @ VTR, Steve @ Aerosim, Johann Ave, William @ TSSFab).

Since I can only upload 5 pics, please check my build thread here: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2076504

Default 2002 Wrx 4eat

Lots of hard wagons to follow, but here goes nothing! Lets hope some members can appreciate hard work and a simple/clean bugeye wagon.

So hello everyone! My name is Tyler and I have been a long time lurker ever since sitting in a 2004 Sti on the show room floor. I was fortunate enough roughly 3 years ago to purchase a beautiful WRX Wagon for a great price. I can honestly say this car will never leave my possession, Bugeye FTW!

- backround info -

My car started its journey with me bone stock and daily driven by a 70yr old who was the original owner. I picked it up with only 40thousand miles on it back in 2010. Currently she sits at 95thousand miles and still going strong! I did tons of research before I bought my car and read as much about them as I could. My first mod was taking out the intake elbow (in the fender) and modded it to be and elbow without the noise baffle. I loved how I could hear the intake more and I was mod hooked! I think purchased a DC sports catback ehaust on ebay, along with a set of Prodrive P1's.

While I loved the exhaust note, I couldnt stand the drone inside the cabin and quickly traded the exhaust for a Apexi WS2 exhaust. Along with painting my wheels gunmetal, and purchasing a JNA front lip. I then decided to drop my car on Tein S-techs (I know, but I wanted low ) So the car stayed like that for a good amount of time, until I got the itch to have more power! So I did what everyone else does, I bought a cobb AP V1, Prodrive up-pipe, and invidia V2 downpipe and went stage 2! It was a great feeling and awesome improvement. After about 1 yr of that I decided to do some more work on the engine.

I contacted Geoff (Arson9) on here who is a local tuner, and we sat down and wrote a list of parts to buy for my car that are everywhere from performance mods to "safety" mods. After making the list and having him order the parts brand new, and me getting some parts off of Nasioc threads the "Mini" build began! After everything was on Geoff tuned it and threw it on the dyno for a couple quick pulls, currently she puts down around 285whp on a mustang dyno. I unfortunatly dont have any dyno sheets to back up the claim but with the parts list below, she can easily hit 300whp if given the proper dyno time.

She currently sits with the same mods and power from that build since June last year. I hope you all enjoy my car, and the rambling that I might have done in the above paragraphs

Onto some pictures!

I know its a Saab but it was built by Subaru and has a Subaru VIN. I have worked hard on it and love it.

I previously owned an 04 WRX, 06 Legacy, 06 Impreza, 00 RS Sedan. I wanted to get something a little different but still came with the flat 4 and AWD. I remember the 9-2x was a Subaru at heart but only made for 2 year and would not be too common so I began what i thought was going to be a long search to find one.

After about 3 months of looking I finally found a 2005 Desert Silver Aero in Port St. Lucie, FL. I picked up the bone stock Aero and a lightly used Cobb TBE and AccessPort from another person on December 26, 2011. This prolly dosen't qualify since I am currently changing the direction of this project but I am a big Fan of Top Scoop and I don't want to wait for a Forester one..

The car used to be a buddies of mine. About 5 years ago after my wagon was killed. I bought an 03 Wagon to rebuild it. Since I still had all the go fast bits out of my wagon I sold and installed all the parts into this Forester. My buddy drove it around for a long time trouble free and it was very dependable. Recently he decided it was time for him to swap up to an STi. He wanted something stock and fast so I offered to buy his Forester to use as my dedicated Auto X/ Track Car.

Well foresters are allowed entry i see sooooo here: I think my wagon is cool so ill just do this for the hell of it, anytime i can get a chance to enter top scoob its worth a shot!

2004 FORESTER XT
(PSM)
Ive owned this car for about 4 months now so bare with me, this is my second subaru, i used to own a 2003 MBP wrx sedan that was my pride and joy for 4 years this cars life ended with me rolling the car on a MI interstate due to me and my passager being cut off by someone in a sleet storm while i was still summer tires and it was 33 degrees and slushly ugh..... long story short i owe Subaru for saving my life and forever will own them for as long as i can. I knew the only way to get over a loss like this was to build something more unique and adaquit for my life style of traveling back and forth to school, biking trips and lugging friends and gear around with ease, while doing it in style and fast at the same time. Being in college its hard to do cool things to your car with budgets and no garage; Apartment parking lots on a College campus filled with broken beer bottles etc. it sucks. I bought my Forester XT off a 66 year old grandma with 48k miles on it bone stock it also has the 4eat buttttt due to low milage and a cheap price i was sold and started modding right away to return it to the glory my wrx was at, this wagon has come a long way in 4 months it serves as a great geat Daily Driver its fun and turns heads, super cheap insurance and i can fit all the Groceries you would ever need!

.
.
Max was dead.

My 2004 WRX wagon - bought off of the showroom floor on my 29th birthday - sounded like metal spoons in a washing machine when I tried to start him. I've had 6 Subarus, and this is the first one to leave me like this. That was in 2011 with only 106,000 miles on him.

He is named Max after the little dog in How The Grinch Stole Christmas that tried to pull that overloaded sleigh up the mountain all by himself... My Max had a stock engine that was trying its best to do way too much. I knew this, but I asked him anyway... go beyond daily driver duty and be my husband's and my autocross car...please.

Max earned both a Season Class Champion and Runner-Up titles in the Washington DC Region (WDCR) SCCA's Solo events that year. Max had come with a 1 year new-member voucher to the SCCA when I purchased him; now I'm the one of Solo Program's Co-Chairs of one of the largest programs in the country and former Regional Executive of the oldest Region in the SCCA.

Max was my daily driver... carting my two young children since they were newborns to and fro, and me... to work, to the grocery store, to WDCR's Board meetings, with the crystal, the one my friend since first grade gave me for my Sweet 16, hanging from my rear view mirror.

When Max's engine broke, I was heart broken. Devastated.

It was recommended to me that I sell him as-is. Instead, he sat in my garage for an agonizing year and a half until I could scrape the dollars together to resurrect him. And this year, that became a reality. Here are his new specs:

Engine:
- JDM EJ207 engine swap (2.0L JDM STi longblock version 8 ) wired for AVCS
- Godspeed catless downpipe with a CEL-fix built in
- EJ207 version 8 stock downpipe
- Greddy EVO 2 catback exhaust
- Exedy Stage 1 clutch
- Lightweight flywheel
- Walboro 255 fuel pump
- STi intercooler splitter
- Version 7 JDM ECU
- Tactrix-based tune

Suspension:
- Perrin front endlinks
- Cobb hollow 24mm front sway bar
- Hotchkis 25mm rear sway bar
- Koni Single Adjustable yellows
- Ground Control camber plates
- Ground Control coilover kit
- Front springs: 7" long 2.5" diameter, 500 spring rate
- Rear springs: 7" long, 2.5" diameter, 450 spring rate

Wheels:
- Volks CE28 5x100 golds
- Race tires: 245/40/17 Dunlop Direzas

Brakes:
- Steel braided brake lines
- Hawk Performance brake pads

Exterior:
- HID headlights (conversion)
- Yellow tinted fog lights
- Rear rubber tailgate bumper guard

Interior:
- G-Force meter (my Sweet 16 crystal)
- 2 Britax convertible car seats (including the Cow-Moo-Flage pattern)
- All-weather child-resistant floor mats
- Subaru boost gauge
- Grocery Getter cargo net
- Center armrest extension
- Cargo tray

That said, I think you'll agree with me that Max is no longer...underpowered.
