Washington Emissions Testing- Questions

Can someone local help me out with understanding current emissions laws? Specifically to be emissions-compliant. I currently have a CBE on my sti, but I'm in the market for an aftermarket DP. I have Cobb Accessport and am running a stage 1 tune. The last time I got an emissions test (less than a year ago), they hooked up my car with their system through the OBD-II connection. Now...I kind-of want to get a catless dp but am afraid that without AP plugged in running stage 2 during the emissions test, my car will run rich and throw a CEL, thus failing the test.

My real question is...is there any way around them plugging into my car through the OBD-II (alternate way of testing?), or any way of avoiding an emissions test all together? (like paying around it?) I know there are people out there that have full catless exhaust and are still driving around, so they must have passed emissions some way or another. If someone could give me some info, I'd greatly appreciate that. Also, mods please don't move this thread to exhaust...it is specific to Washington State for a reason.

when you get your cat less down pipe make sure you get a tune and you will pass they will plug their scanner in the odb2 port and their system will check for any faults and will make sure that your o2 sensors work etc. oh yea during the test don't be like this car has cat less exhuast, intake etc... just keep it down low.

Settle down, I did use the search button. It hasn't been discussed specifically to Washington State. Maybe you don't know, but emissions testing DOES change state-to-state; don't make an ass out of yourself for pointless comments.

Also, I understand that you need a tune to not throw a CEL. The problem is that AP only tunes when it is plugged in. That means, not plugged in=CEL. And during the test, if they plug in through the OBD-II, I cannot have the AP plugged in simultaneously.

that's false, AP saves the tune into the Ecu. "No it doesn't need to be plugged in ever, once you flash a base map... Until you want to change maps or datalog, check codes or use the AP as a gauge, (boost gauge for example)..."
