Default New motor issue oil pressure issue - destroying oil filter o rings!

I got a replacement longblock for one of my cars from a member of the forum and I got it running today and something is causing the oil filter to be super pressurized and basically popping the oil filter seal and forcing the oil filter off. I thought I might have pinched the seal the first time so I just put new oil and a new filter on but the same thing happened. I've never had this issue with any of the motors I've done in the past and other than an oil passage being blocked I can't think of anything that would cause this. Hoping someone can provide some insight while I go clean up 10 quarts of oil off my garage floor

Lee

Stock long block, as far as I know it wasn't taken apart, going to try another oil cooler before the motor comes back out.

Just found that thread, leaning towards that being the problem.

Could be the bypass, wrong or defective filter, oversized oil pump being used when it shouldn't, blocked passage, etc... You've got a few options here. Let us know what you find!

Tried different filters, it is the stock pump afaik so I'll check out the bypass today. Hoping it's that then finger are cross that the only thing that blew out was the oil filter o ring and not half the other oil seals in the motor lol.
