Default Where to buy backup camera that fits in License plate light? and new Battery for car?

Car is a 2010 Impreza sedan.

Where to buy backup camera that fits in License plate light? and new Battery for car?

Looking to order a Back up camera that fits like OEM in the rear license plate light without modifying that area.... Where on amazon or online may I order one?

Also my OEM battery seems to be weak... car is only a 2010 but looks like the battery might need replacement. I will be installing a pretty hefty audio system very soon, so what do you guys recommend? Optoma yellow top? or better ?

any links to deals would be appreciated.

Thanks

I found a "2010 subaru impreza back up camera" on Amazon in about 5sec and the second listing was a camera with replacement light bezel and LED lamps... 28$

Sears Diehard Platinum... great battery

Thank you! I'm wondering who has used a certain ebay camera, and can comment on the quality?

The one on ebay has all the right qualifications. And for $20.00/ free shipping what do you have to loose...

It has the same camera as the one I am using and Sony quality is there. Here's a link to save you time but I just searched, "2010 subaru impreza back up camera" from Aaron's post.

I'd get one of these if I can ever score one of those OEM HU with the little 4.3" LCD.

Is there any feedback on the quality of these cameras? That pricing seems too good to be true. I don't have any issues burning $20 but I don't want to waste my time installing it if it's crap.

Price doesn't equal quality! Remember most ALL of cameras are made in china....

Find one that:

1) Fits your vehicle (or you can adapt; being creative)

2) High TV lines ie: 380TV lines is lowest 580TV lines has a clearer image (most important)

3) Lux number: (Minimum illumination needed for night vision) Lower is better 0.01

4) Guide lines included in image (not all do)

5) Lens Angle: Higher number is wider view. 170 is good

6) Ask seller if it fits before buying

7) Wired is much better than wireless. (There can be interference with the signal)

8) Almost forgot reverse image ability. (Matches your mirror)

For my 2003 I chose the one below. Because it is older they don't usually offer a direct fit but I made the one below work/mount for me. I'll post a couple of pics but for now here are a couple of links.

1) The one I bought

2) For a 2007 - 2011

3) eBay listings

First pic are the garage doors; 20 inches from camera. In the middle pic the white in the upper left is my shed which is 25 feet away. Both taken at 3am with only reverse lights for illumination. Extremely clear during the day. The last pic shows it mounted with silicone; in my case.... I'll take another today when the sun comes out. Remember these are pics taken of my dash and not the same as in person.

And this from this morning on an overcast day.

Do I need to have the navigation for this? How do I view? Does it come with a monitor screen?

You would need something with a video screen to view the signal from these cameras. Most people use an in-dash system others like a mirror with that capability.

Google "backup camera systems" and see what is offered to learn more.

I've done a lot of research and local installers are telling me they have countless customers that come into their shops every week with the $20 ebay "Sony" Cams that have failed, and work intermittently, and some just die over a time span of a year... They recommend I spend a little more at least get the 80-$100 Brand name ones online... but problem is they don't have the exact fit in the license plate light hole...

I bought a Boyo 425HD when I got my wagon last March. I did a ton of research and found this to be the best bet for my needs ($120). Great quality, stands up to weather VERY well (Seattle rain) and easily integrated following this post for the OEM Nav HU (2012 has a Fujitsu/Eclipse HU so likely different than yours - I'm sure you can find a 2010 DIY guide though).

The nice feature with the Boyo license cameras is that the bolts are recessed into the frame so a thief cant just put a socket wrench to it. If you properly mount with nuts inside the trunk panel it would literally require sawing the bolts off to remove.

Although you can probably find them a few bucks cheaper on eBay I got mine from Amazon because of their easy return policy. I doubt I'll ever need it at this point though.

The HD line also have great low-light sensitivity. Even in horrible rain at night I can see everything 30+ ft back with only the reverse lights. Also has a 175 wide viewing angle, Waterproof (IP67), 520TVL with 1.56mm Board Lens and you can switch between Reverse/ Non Reverse image.

Considering that Deka makes a good part of the batteries sold, I'd go straight to deka.

Back up cameras are going to vary greatly thought price and quality. I found mine on the Internet
