As an astrophotographer, I have never seen someone shoot that small of an aperture. I stand corrected.

Shot with a Canon T3i, 18-55mm f/3.5 lens (at 18mm f/3.5) ISO 100 1/60. Edited in Adobe Photoshop CS5. I have the 50mm f/1.8 which I love shooting with, but it wasn't working since I was just shooting out of my bedroom window haha. I'm wanting to upgrade to the f/1.4 soon.

For both pics the sky was captured using a Carl Zeiss ZF 35/2.0 at 2.0. They are both combined pictures for the landscape and sky. Amazing pics and I know the point you are trying to make though. Oh and about FF and crop. If I get the 5d iii I'm still keeping my 7D for the crop factor on my 70-200L.

Should have looked closer at the data. That lens is insane and it does throw off the EXIF data. I would love to shoot with one of those sometime. I am actually thinking about picking up a 7D to compliment my 5D3 as I miss having a crop sometimes.

Yeah those weren't mine nor would I claim them to be. Just used as examples pertaining to ISO and f stops. That is also why I linked directly back to them as I didn't want anyone to get the wrong idea. xluben posted up my link. Mainly automotive for obvious reasons. I personally do not shoot a lot of landscapes as it is not something I am particularly good at. Landscapes take a TON of practice and a unique eye for it that I just haven't taken the time to really try to nail down for myself. I hope to in the future...just not something I have the time for now.

I did have some fun with something a little bit different than my norm yesterday though. Award winning Grand Champion BBQ in Alpharetta, GA. I would post more but I don't want you to drool all over your keyboard and try to lick the screen.

I was looking at your pics rsutton that someone linked above. Great pics first off. But how do you like that 135 2.0 L? I hear amazing things about that lens but I do already own the 70-200 2.8 L ii. So do you think it would still be worth picking up?

It is actually my favorite lens for automotive work. You can get similar results with the 70-200 but the sharpness and bokeh with the 135 is just insane. After you use one for awhile, you see why it is arguably the best Canon lens ever produced. When I was shooting Nikon, it was the one lens that I had Canon jealousy over.

Yeah that's what I hear. The sharpness and bokeh are unmatched. I'm surprised you didn't go with a D800 when you were with Nikon. I have some friends that love that body.

I was actually upset when they released the D800. File size is just too large for what I need and that came at the sacrifice of burst speed which I like to have at the track. The 5D3 was exactly what I wanted Nikon to release. I have a couple of friends with D800's and it is an awesome camera...but that file size becomes an issue for editing and shooting if you don't really need it.
