I'm happy for your and your build Kelly. Just today I was reminded of one of your worst nightmares...

Cam seal leaking oil on my header...no fire extinguisher ...

i got a blast of oil smoke through my heat vent. popped the hood and heard the oil drip sizzle on the header followed by another cloud of toxic stench.

i got a lil bit coming from behing my timing cover. i mean a very lil bit. enough to leave a quarter mark on the ground over night.

after comprehending the seriousness of a fire like yours, i realize it needs to be addressed asap.

i would just change the cam gear in my driveway, but its like 10* in jersey this week.

Very nice progress! That makes you feel good about the effort and thoroughness when a shop turns out stuff like that in short time.

I used brad Penn too . . . 30W? I've got a case of their 10w40 for when I get dyno'd. Green oil haha.

Congrats man happy for you. I would love to see some results by the weekend

if hardcore means paying somebody with a heated shop then yeah...we go hard.

trouble is the car will probably burn down before i can afford to buy a cam seal.

Good thing you caught it. Car fires are no fun homey. They don't have garages in Jersey?

phil...havent taken the covers/cam gears off yet to see what one it is. i planned on buying both to cover myself. nothing to it but to do it, but i'd rather not drive then freeze my azz off.

my garage is full of parts...everywhere else cost money.

Thanks man. I thought you were gonna beat me to the dyno but it looks like it will be close. You're going down to P&L next week for a tune?

No not next week. Junior is there, but all time slots are full. I'm hoping for end of Feb he is there again. I should be ready by February 10th.

I have an EGT technologies two channel K type T/C ==> 0-5V converter but I haven't hooked it up yet. I'm not doing 4 channel EGT like you.

Car is going on the dyno to do some spring pressure pulls but we're having some boost control issues. Unlike what Bariga had my tuner is saying this thing wants to boost to the moon with 0% WGDC. I hope its as simple as me plumbing the boost lines up wrong and we can make some pulls.

What really sucks is I'm. Just starting a maintenance outage at my plant and I'll be working 12 hrs/day, 7 days a week for the next 45 days or so, so I probably won't be able to make it out and see it run on the dyno.

Got an email from Ian. I had messed up the WG lines and now on spring pressure of 15 psi tapering to 10 psi the car put down over 300 whp. The car is coming off the dyno for an oil change and will be on next week for power runs. I'll let you two know when the good pulls are coming as soon as I know.
