Question 2010 STI INVIDIA N1 RACE exhaust vs INVIDIA N1 STREET exhaust Questions

I'm thinking about getting the Invidia N1 Race CBE for my 2010 Sti hatchback. Does anybody have some helpful information as to whether or not I should get the N1 Race or the N1 street? I understand the Race is louder, but is it too loud? Once again I know it all has to do with personal preference, but any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

N1 Race is raspy.
N1 street sounds more defined.

Figuring you have a 5 door, the street would make it a lot more bearable because it won't drone [as bad].

Smoke summed it up.

Either way, I hope you don't mind drone .. because Invidia exhausts drone like mofos in the hatchbacks. The N1 systems are especially bad in the drone department.

Here's a good sample of the N1 race, it's loud!

http://youtu.be/NcL-In2rCA8

I had it on my 02 Bug and loved! It does drone and is pretty loud in the can but I loved my car being loud so didn't bother me.

I have the n1 street on my sedan. Only difference between the 2 is the street in resonated. I kind of wish I had the race since its not my daily and I LOVE the pop and snarl of backfire with a straight exhaust since I'm running a catless down pipe. Have had a few backfires with the street, fun stuff haha.

I love the n1 race, is a bit raspy but you can still hear the boxer rumble in there. I traded my turboxs quad tip for this since I wanted something louder.

Yeah I've heard it's definitely more raspy, but I kind of think for the fact of a single exhaust and the power that it'll generate will be worth the extra rasp vs a more bassy tone. I had first considered a quad tip exhaust, but over time I have turned completely away from that a year later.

I see on Invidia's website that they have a dual tip N1 exhaust for 08+ WRX/Sti. I am seriously contemplating getting them (love the looks) but would it be as loud as the single exit?

Yes it is as loud but not as bassy i suppose. You should buy them and then buy the single tip from me

I went ahead and ordered the single n1 race exhaust and installed it this past weekend with a friend! It's loud and looks great. Here's a pic of it:

N1 Race exhaust, Invidia Catted downpipe on a daily driver here, it's not too loud or raspy. The only time I notice the drone is early in the morning while the car is warming up and idling high.

I have a 2013 Hatch and have the N1 street. For a single exit, N1 style muffler, it is actually pretty tame. I am used to loud cars, but the N1 street is very driveable. Just drove from Orlando to North Carolina for 10 hours and it didn't bother me at all. Still was able to listen to the radio. Drone isn't annoying at all, and I have a hatch.

Nice video man. The picture is crystal clear and sound is so crisp. And of course it sounds great haha. I just put mine on yesterday and love it too, I'm still running the stock downpipe and testpipe though.

Why do you say it will be less bassy? and if it is less bassy does it mean that it may drone less? I am worried only about the drone.
