It's always fun when a customer comes in and tells me to push the setup to the limits and beyond without caring about engine longevity. After discussing the risks and plans, this customer asked me to push 24psi on this setup. The stock engine has nearly 100k miles on it with the last ~30k running this setup at about 20psi. It was still running strong but he is planning on building it soon anyway so he wanted to see what was possible with a very aggressive tune on California 91 Octane. We went ahead with the tune and the results are pretty awesome.

Those are great numbers for that setup and 91 Oct. Your customer doesn't want to run meth? I hope the engine lasts...

he realizes that blowing the motor could possibly cost him thousands and thousands more than if he were to build it right now?

Wow great numbers Ed, Id like to see the timing tables to see how much ur holding out till redline..and how quick did you see the boost taper down to 20psi? It looks like it dropped out pretty quick, what TMIC did the customer have on?
What will go first @ 24psi and 100k+ miles, Turbo or motor? |

Great result on piss water, must have a really smart timing curve to hold that boost initially, clever tuning, bet it rips

20G's are great.. I hear the Synergy turbo 20g-8cm turbos make that type of power off pump gas.

Is this on a 20g turbo? I must have missed that post I thought this was a aggressive stock turbo tune

Any updates? Hope this guy had better luck than me lol. A few years ago i installed a 35r/supporting mods on my 06 sti(stock longblock). Drove to CO on a limo map and dynoed 425/380 on 91. About a month later piston #3 exploded; broke through the cylinder wall, bent valves and chunks of piston in the turbo. Look me up in ppb to see pics of the carnage. Its back up and running now with a donor motor and a 20g. Can you do an open source tune via email? Thanks Paul |
