Shaun, are you guys at SoJax getting a new forester cleaned up for the Jax auto show?
That's how I got my first glimpse at the SH model years.

Is Sparks too good for us now with his BRZ? LOL, I remember when I would type something and get a response from him in minutes.

Would anyone be willing to meet me somewhere and let me use their maf sensor for like, a minute? I have the p0171 code, and I've been slowly going through the list of possibilites. No vacuum leaks, new o2 sensor, yada yada, the list goes on. I just want to see if the code goes away putting a good maf sensor on. If it does, then I'll go out and buy a new one.

Looks like my injectors are not getting any better, even with LOADS of cleaner.

gonna swap them out with new DW740's, and see what happens next.

Yeah, that would be an easy and fairly cheap thing to replace. I can't imagine injectors not cleaning out.

From the NFSG thread, cause I don't feel like typing it all again:

It started at 11:20 when they took him back to the OR, about 16:30 the surgeon removing bad S**t came out & told us it was more involved than originally thought. But that he believed they got it all out, due to the extreme swelling the hole to close up was not as large as they thought it would be, so they could use the wrist tissue that was ideal for the reconstruction and that the Plastic surgeons had started their work.
At 2100, we spoke with both surgeons, who again said it was gone and that everything did take longer, but had worked out well in the end. The only down side was that the nerve controlling the right corner of his mouth was compromised.
We went into recovery about 21:30, he said he felt like crap. We then went up to ICU to wait for him to be transferred there. About 22:20 we got to see him for a few minutes before coming home.
Today he was doing much better, but still has a lot of pain at the jaw joint where they took out the salivary gland, and his left wrist where they took the graft material from.
The Oncologist said he looked really good considering all he went through, and that the Radiotherapy doctors would be coming to see him. He will need 4 weeks of treatment, 5 days a week, at higher than normal levels. Not good, the RT at normal levels are rough on you, with life long side effects.
He will then start an unknown course of Chemo, which depends on the pathology of the biopsies they took, and further testing after the RT.
The poor kid has a long row to hoe ahead of him, and will need all of our support and help to get through. I really hope it all works as it is intended, and he winds up on the list of long term Melanoma survivors. He's not out of the woods yet, but at least he can see the clearing.
Thanks for all of your support already, I'm going to see if I can get him a phone so ya'll can get a hold of him. Contact with friends can only help.

What they said Joe, also highly unlikely for them to all fail at the same rate. Unless this is also an excuse to upgrade the injectors.

Unfortunately, they are not all failing at the same rate. Two of them are fine, and two of them show high "roughness" at low duty cycle (one worse than the other). When SoJax moved the injectors to different cylinders, the misfire code follows the injectors to the new cylinders.

Same problem as what I had at Thanksgiving. Here was my quote then:
Quote:
The technician was able to swap the injectors from cylinder to cylinder, and get the misfire code at whatever cylinder he put the injector into. As per the technician, the roughness monitor for the injectors at idle went from ~50 (pre-cleaning) to ~1 (post-cleaning)...
I don't understand why the roughness came back. But it seems to be limited to just those two injectors.

Certainly open to swapping out the fuel filter - a fairly simple swap...

So after a pressurized injector clean, they were fine, now the problem returned on the same injectors. Changing injectors does sound like a good indea.

I'll be out Saturday and Sunday for the SCCA events. Sporting new wheels and tires for STX. 17X8-48 Rota G-Force with the newly released 255/40/17 Direzza DII

Yes - I agreed with the logic, which is why we'll swap the injectors out tomorrow. I love you dudes.

Yes this??? Depending on what's happening with CJ I may stop out for a few minutes.

CJ has taken a slight turn down, running a fever and they can't seem to keep his blood oxygen levels high enough. Can't be too bad though because they moved him out of ICU to a regular room. Nicer amenities, but lower service levels.

BTW - no flashing CC/solid CEL at the moment!

I'll take a drive today and put a few miles on the car just to make sure that it isn't "lurking" anywhere.

Also going to send the old injectors back to DW for them to test them. Interested in what went bad on a $600 set of injectors... and if they can be cleaned up for resale...
