Default Front License Plate Mount

Hey guys I did some searching but couldnt find much for my situation.

I just became the proud owner of a 2013 WRX and I just got plates for it today, I am looking for a mount for the front plate. It looks like there are two squares in the bumper for something that a mount could go in. Are there any mounts available for this?

I would like to avoid drilling into the bumper if I can.

Thanks in advance.

there are cheap little plastic snap brackets that fit inside those squares. i tried them but the plate flew right off after i pulled with a little force. you might have better luck? I ended up getting holes drilled. You can also look into license plate relocation brackets and have it sit on the lower bumper off to one of the sides.

If you don't have holes predrilled and don't want to drill into a fresh bumper, I would recommend the Grimmspeed plate relocation kit. I bought mine from rallysportdirect here and couldn't be happier.

Google Totsubo license plate bracket. $35 for 2 pieces of metal but aesthetically the best bracket out there. I've had them for over a year with no issues.

Totsubo for sure, unless you like they ricey look. Mine have also been on for about a year, work as expected. Only got a little loose when someone backed into the license plate, but a simple fix.

Not really a fan of the offset license plate, ruins the symmetry haha. The Totsubo mounts look good. Do they press into the pre-existing holes in the bumper? It says no drilling but I want to double check before I drop the $35 on it.

Thanks!

no drilling is correct. they have well nuts. as you tighten the little Al blocks to the bumper, the well nut expands in the square holes you have in the bumper and hooks into the spaces at the rear of the hole.

check out grimmspeed they have some nice ones. or you could go with a plate delete and get the euro plate for the front. imo i think it looks really nice.

FYI, anyone can pretty much make their own mount just using the well nuts. It will require that you drill holes in the license plate, but who gives a shiz

Anyone know what the correct well nut size for the Totsubo mount is?

I have one on my car (love it) and suspect I will need new well nuts due to a pending bumper replacement.

I would only do the offset plate if I was running a FMIC for functionality. Otherwise, it just looks weird since the bumper already has that center mounting spot molded into it.

good question.

if you go to 1:09ish of the video below you see some numbers on the nut portion. i searched and it appears H1032 is the one you want, but i can't be sure.
