My girlfriend is ready for a new car. Currently, she drives a 1988 CRX with about 9 billion miles on it. It's still going strong, but I know it can't last forever. Plus, I don't like it when she drives around with our daughter. A carseat in the front seat is not a good idea. Plus, on the Metro-Detroit roads, that thing is a deathtrap. Too many SUV's for me to feel safe.
So, I'm looking for something around 8-12k, reliable, not extremely small, but relatively safe. I was thinking a new Hyundai, because the warranty is impressive, but I dunno. I think I'd rather get her something like a Focus hatchback that's got some miles on it. She likes the CRX, and has said "I want something that looks the same, but is bigger and new." What can I say, she's a chick ![]() So, what can I expect to find for that price range with less than about 50k miles on it? |
